Mulligan's Open 2025: Scotland's NAF National - 1st March to 2nd March (Edinburgh, Scotland)

Post by ChrisRaff88 »

We are extremely happy to announce Mulligan's Open will be returning for its 5th iteration on March 1st to 2nd 2025. We will once again be Scotland's NAF National so get ready for some elo boost fun!

Tickets will go on sale on the mkbbl website from Saturday June 16th 2024 at 9.00am GMT! There has been a lot of interest in the event and we expect tickets to go quickly. If you don't want to miss out it suggested to purchase your ticket ASAP.

For 2025 we will have a 2 week presale for international coaches starting on June 2nd 2024 at 9.00am GMT. We have set aside 20 of the 110 tickets for this, with any tickets not bought during this period being made available during the general sale on June 16th.

Full details for the event can be found on the mkbbl website here: https://www.mkbbl.co.uk/

You can also find the main ruleset info below:

COST: £50 (£55 for Non-NAF members, price includes NAF membership)

As per NAF guidelines, the documents that make up the tournament rule set are:
- the rules in the BB2020 starter box;
- the Teams of Legend document, released by Games Workshop and hosted on the Blood Bowl website;
- the FAQ, Designer’s Commentary and Errata, hosted on the Blood Bowl website;
- the rules for Slann as per the NAF website;

Teams fall into the following categories:

Tier 0 - TV1100
Underworld Denizens.

Tier 1 - TV1150

Tier 6 - TV1200

Coaches have Treasury equal to that as defined in their tier above to create their starting team rosters, not counting additional skills (more on that below).

The tournament is resurrection style, meaning no injuries or deaths during games carry over into the next game.

Team rosters must consist of at least 11 players. Star Players do not count toward this total. If opposing teams have the same Star Player, both may be used.

Tiers 4 to 6 may take a Star Player, only after 11 players are rostered.

Mega Star players are banned at Mulligan's Open. A list of these players can be found below:

Once your starting treasury has been allocated, teams will be granted skill points based on the following tiers.

Tier 0 Teams: 6 skill points

Tier 1 Teams: 6 skill points

Tier 2 Teams: 7 skill points

Tier 3 Teams: 8 skill points

Tier 4 Teams: 9 skill points

Tier 5 Teams: 10 skill points

Tier 6 Teams: 11 skill points

Skill points can be spent on the following:

Primary Skill: 1 point
Secondary Skill: 2 points
2 Primary Skills Stacked: 2 points (1 skill point sacrificed to allow this)
Star Player: 4 points
AV/MA/PA Increase: 1 point
AG Increase: 2 points
ST Increase: 4 points

All tiers may purchase 1 Star player or Mega Star (not both.

Tier 1 may not spend their skill points on secondary skills.

Tier 2 & 3 can buy one secondary skill with skill points.

Tier 4 & 5 can buy two secondary skills with skill points.

Tier 6 can buy three secondary skills with skill points.

All skills are assigned before the tournament begins (i.e. no progression) and should be reflected on team rosters.

The following restrictions apply to your
additional skills selection:

● Tiers 3 to 6 may sacrifice 1 point to stack skills on players within their team. For example a Black Orc team would sacrifice one of their 10 points to stack two skills on two different players. This would cost a total of 5 points, one for the sacrifice to allow stacking then 2 points for each player with 2 skills. Likewise Goblins in tier 6 can sacrifice 1 point to stack two primary skills on three players This would total 7 points used from their 11.

Tiers 3+4 may stack 2 primaries on one player

Tier 5 may stack 2 primaries on two players

Tier 6 may stack 2 primaries on 3 players

● Tiers 4+5 may select one player to increase one statistic
(points cost shown below). Tier 6 can increase one statistic on two players.

● Any stat increases taken must confirm
with the maximum stat increase
restrictions as displayed within the BB20
rulebook. Therefore MA10 Gutter Runners
etc. will not be allowed.

● No player with a stat increase may take
an additional skill

● Star players on your roster may not be
given an additional skill or statistic
increase

There is no limit on skill incidence. Dwarves can have 4 Guards and Lizardmen can have 4 Blocks.

Points will be allocated as follow:
Win = 100 points
Draw = 50 points
TD = 1 point (max 3)
CAS = 1 point (max 3)

Gnomes will likely be mandatory after the annual NAF review at the end of the year - which tier are you placing them in?

TOs! You do not need multiple copies of rosters. It's a waste of paper.
Bribe level: good coffee.

Good catch. I updated them on our website and forgot to include them in the blurb (updated now). Gnomes will be tier 5.
