Hello sports fans and welcome to this year's Blitzmania event!
Last year we had a group of plucky new up-and-coming teams taking advantage of the new funding opportunities from wealthy sponsors who sought to raise the hopes, dreams and aspirations of the rookies before they came crashing down into the dirt face first on the pitch! 2018 is no exception, with teams looking to test their mettle before their generous sponsors, who will rise to the lofty heights of this being this year's champion, and who will plummet quicker than a fumbled Halfling from a Treeman's grasp?
Blitzmania II is a ***FREE*** tournament that plays like a league, with 7 rounds being played over 2 days. The teams will each get skill ups after every match to enable their players to develop over the course of the competition and win gold from their games to buy new players and coaching staff. Points are awarded over the course of the tournament based on the games' results and the player with the most points at the tournament's end is the overall winner. There are plenty more awards to be won, however, for things like most casualties and most touchdowns scored.
Blitzmania II is a worldwide event sponsored by Games Workshop, and this means that there are exclusive giveaways this year that are only available at Blitzmania II! The giveaway this year is a superbly made ball token, a set of badges and, for those of you who missed our event last year, a set of Blitzmania exclusive Special Play Cards. The tournament is ideal for coaches who are brand new to the game and want to see what it might be like to join a league or play at a tournament, although it is also a great event for veterans of the game, too!
Sounds good so far? Let me tell you the rules for the tournament. A general guide is below, and for more detailed rules you can download the rulespack via the file link at the bottom of this post.

+Roster Creation+
- Rosters are created according to the rules for drafting new teams in Death Zone 1/Almanac. Each coach has 1,000,000 gold pieces to purchase their team from. Remaining gold is recorded in the treasury.
- Star Players and Inducements cannot be bought as part of the roster.
- Roster sheets are provided for coaches to record their team's development.
+Special Tournament Rules+
- All the rules applicable to Blood Bowl leagues are applicable to the Blitzmania II tournament - remember, Blitzmania II is just like a league - with the following exception:
No SPPs are recorded. Instead, after each game, pick three of your players who you think performed particularly well and deserve an improvement. Line them up and roll a D6. On a 1 or 2, the player on the left gets the improvement. On a 3 or 4, the player in the middle gets it. On a 5 or 6, it goes to the player on the right. Roll for the skill just as you would normally do in a league scenario if your player had been awarded an improvement.
+Scoring+
Rounds will be scheduled at the start of the tournament at random. The rounds will then be played through in order.
A win awards 3 points.
A draw awards 1 point.
A loss awards 0 points.
+Awards+
Certificates will be given during the awards ceremony for the following:
• McMurty’s Spamburgers Coach of the Year Award (most match points)
• Spike! Magazine Most Vicious Player Award (most casualties inflicted (from Blocks only))
• Jim Johnson’s Lifetime Bereavement Award (most casualties suffered)
• Zug’s Anger Management Award (fewest casualties inflicted)
