SYBBL presents the Steelbowl, Sheffield 3rd February 2018

Post by Littleleadperson »

The Steelbowl February Frenzy comes to Sheffield!! SFF is a Blood Bowl Tournament with a
twist to be held at the Outpost, 2 Neepsend Ln, Sheffield S3 8AU on the 3rd February 2018 in association with the South
Yorkshire Blood Bowl League.

The tournament is NAF sanctioned but is also open to non-NAF members. There will be
prizes for the the overall winner, most casualties and most touchdowns. The format will be a
standard resurrection format with the same team roster to be used in every match with no
injuries, deaths or player progression carrying over between games.

Team Roster
Coaches have 1.2 million to spend on their teams. Khorne and Bretonnian teams wiIl be
allowed and in line with the NAF ruling for 2018 NAF v NAF games with these teams will be
ranked. Come along to one of the first UK tournaments to try them out!

Inducements are not allowed with the following exceptions:
- 0-2 Star Players may be purchased for a team once the roster has 10 standard
players on it’s roster
- Halflings may purchase a Halfling Masterchef for 100K
- Goblin teams may purchase up to 3 bribes at 50K each

Each team will be offered a skills package to enhance their players; this will be done on a
tier system.
TIER 1 :Amazon, Chaos Dwarf, Dark Elf, Dwarf, Lizardman, Norse, Orc, Skaven, Undead,
Wood Elf, Bretonnian
TIER 2 : Chaos, Chaos Pact, Elf, High Elf, Human, Khemri, Necromantic, Nurgle, Slann,
Khorne
TIER 3 : Halfling, Goblin, Ogre, Underworld, Vampire
The packages will be as follows:
TIER 1 = 4 normal skills
TIER 2 = 4 normal skills and 1 double skill
TIER 3 = 4 normal skills and 2 double skills
You may not assign more than one additional skill to any player and star players may not
have additional skills added. A single skill may not be assigned more than twice to players
on the team.

We will be using the CRP rules as well as the most recent NAF updates-
https://www.thenaf.net/wp-content/uploa ... 6/CRP1.pdf

https://www.thenaf.net/2017/05/naf-and-death-zone-2/

The Illegal Procedure will not be enforced. There is a time limit for games, so coaches are
encouraged to play 4 minute turns to ensure games are completed. Any games that reach
the time limit will have to be halted and the result at this point will be the final result of that
game.

February Frenzy Special Rule

The February Frenzy is hosted deep in the savage dungeons of Naggaroth. Whether it is
due to the fumes of the Witch Elves’ psychotropic drugs or the murderous influence of
Khaine, the blood bowl teams playing are apt to descend into a murderous rage at any
instant.

Once per match during a kick off but before the D6 and D8 are rolled. Coaches may declare
they are using February Frenzy rule.Only one coach may declare this per kickoff. If both
coaches declare, the receiving team has priority. The other coach has to wait until the next
kick off chance.

For that coaches next turn all his/her players gain the frenzy skill. This wears off once the
turn finishes. The next turn is considered to be one taking taking place in the coach’s normal
sequence of play, not the extra turn gained from a rolling a Blitz on the Kick Off table.
Star players and players already with frenzy gain no bonus from this. Any player with the
Grab skill may not use that skill during this turn as per normal rules.

Schedule

The round 1 match will be randomly determined. In the following rounds players will be
ranked by points total and paired off into matches e.g. 1st vs 2nd, 3rd vs. 4th etc using
score. Where players are tied on points, they will be drawn against a random opponent who
has the same number of points. Players will not be drawn against an opponent they have
already played during the tournament.
09:30 – 10:00: Registration
• 10:00 – 12:15: Match 1
• 12:15– 12:45: Lunch
• 12:45 – 15:00: Match 2
• 15:10 – 17:25: Match 3
• 17:45: Awards
Tournament points are scored as follows for each match:
* 3 points for a win
* 1 point for a draw
* 0 points for a loss

Players on equal points after the final match will be separated in the final placings by
‘Strength of Schedule’ i.e. by adding up the total scores of their three opponents; the higher
net total achieving the higher position. If scores remain tied, combined net touchdowns and
net casualties will be used as a second tiebreaker. At the end of the tournament, the highest
placed player will be crowned the first Steelbowl champion!
Only blocking casualties (i.e. those that would yield SPPs) count towards tiebreakers and the
Most Casualties prize.

Sorry Phil. Actually you’re right. DZ2 &1 players are allowed as it’s part of the NAF ruling from August
