Burger Bowl 2018

Date: 21st – 22nd July 2018

Starting at 9:30am and finishing by 6:15pm on both days.

Venue: AKVA BAR, 129 Fountainbridge, Edinburgh, EH3 9QG http://www.bodabar.com/akva/

This picturesque canal side city centre venue is 1km from Haymarket Train Station, walking directions here.

It is fully licensed from 10am both days and child friendly so no restriction on age but be aware you made need proof of age to buy alcoholic drinks if you are lucky enough to look as though you may be under 21.

Ticket price per person: £25

Burger Bowl will be NAF ranked and to encourage new coaches into the tournament scene the entry fee will include NAF membership for those who do not already have it.

What is included in the ticket price?

6 games of blood bowl (3 on Saturday, 3 on Sunday), 2 lunches (a gourmet Burger and Chips on the Saturday, soup and filled Bagel on the Sunday) and a host of prizes.

Tournament Rules

Format and rules set will be similar to the Eurobowl 2018 rule set with the exception that Stunties will be allowed Star Players:

Burger Bowl will be played with the Competition Rules Pack plus the NAF tournament changes in line with Blood Bowl 2016 rule book, Death Zone 1 & 2.

Burger Bowl is a resurrection style tournament. All coaches start each game with the same roster and skills they registered before the tournament.

Each coach builds their team with a treasury consisting of 1,100,000 gold pieces.

No inducements are available to any teams with the following exceptions: Goblins may buy 0-3 bribes; Halflings may buy 0-1 master chef and all Tier 3 teams may hire Star Players.

All skills will be chosen before the tournament and will stay the same for all matches throughout the tournament. See the tier chart below for information on how many and which type of skills your selected team can choose. Skill stacking or stat upgrades are not allowed.

Tier 1 - Wood Elf, Undead, Lizardmen, Skaven, Dwarf, Chaos Dwarf, Orcs, Dark Elf, Norse, Amazon, Bretonnian: 6 normal skills
Tier 2 - Chaos, Chaos Pact, Human, Khemri, Slann, Necromantic, High Elf, Elf, Nurgle, Vampire, Underworld, Khorne: 7 normal skills & 1 double skill
Tier 3 - Halfling, Goblin, Ogre: 6 normal skills & 2 double skills

How do I get a ticket?

There are 40 spaces (increased from an initial 30) available on a ‘first come, first served’ basis.

In order to get a ticket, please send the £25 to the following PayPal account ‘gnthomson@yahoo.com’. This payment should be made in a 'friends and family' format.

Within the payment, please type your full name, NAF name and NAF number. You will receive an email confirming your place within a few days of your payment.

N.B. Tickets cannot be reserved, nor money given ‘on the day’ or by any other format. Strictly PayPal only. Tickets can be transferred to another coach, however no refund will be given 4 weeks prior to the event.

I get back from Italy on the 31st March and have a meeting with our preferred venue on Easter Monday 2nd April to finalise details. That venue is located at EH3 9QG. I hope this is enough to make a decision if you need to before the beginning of April.
