Hi Pipey,

I have submitted all but one of the the UKBBL teams racial choices, but for some reason none of the captains have received any emails. Please advise.

Thanks gc,

PeteW wrote:Gosh. It takes TWELVE minutes (according to Google) to walk from the Priory Centre to the OWS. And, one has to walk over open water.

Due to the excessive time, and clear and present danger, I really think that the UKTC committee should put taxis on for all of the teams attending.

Please note, this post may, or may not be largely ironic.
Assuming you are walking at 3 miles per hour and there is no traffic / roads to cross then a healthy unladen Blood Bowler in Africa who knew exactly where he was going could indeed yomp it in 12 minutes.

However this is York with those crazy English drivers who still get double points for mowing down innocent Scotsmen (It is Legal to Shoot a Scotsman in York) and we all know that the average speed of an unladen Blood Bowler in Europe is less than 2 miles per hour so it likely to take in the region of 30 minutes to conduct this journey safely which would be an hour (there and back) of wasted drinking time, not to mention having to navigate the Bridgekeeper "answer me these questions three, ere the other side he see" twice.

As for getting a taxi in central York on a Saturday evening

Look forward to catching up Graham :D

PS your team name has already been updated after captain Purdindas submitted races.
Intriguing! Will we be seeing humans, amazons, norse and, err... bretonnian?! Genius. (Or madness.)
You might make that assumption or is it an excuse just to play cheesey 70s Synth Pop?

York may have changed in the 15 years or so since I went to uni there, but a "12 minute walk" across the city centre, especially one starting on/near Mickelgate, would pass approximately 47 pubs, a couple of awful nightclubs, a kebab van, and several hen parties of drunken Geordies*. So I agree, there's no way that Google is taking that into account in their directions... even in my student days I couldn't manage that many drinks in 12 minutes!

* At any time of day/week

Various updates sent for the HDWSBBL team(s). Slight typo in one coach name (should be Wolimorb not Wollimorb). How late can I leave it before changing race?? I don't like being this organised, it doesn't feel natural... at this rate I'm merely left contemplating which variant roster I take rather than choosing a race as well on the morning!!

I intend to keep up the tradition of drunken Geordies as best as possible! I'll not be the only one :D

Monday 15th is your deadline for races! No changes please after that.

Will correct Mr Wolimorb no worries.

Have been uncharacteristically disorganised - anyone have a spare room/floor for the Saturday night? Pipey - I asked the guys you said, no dice!

Small change in the Team Baguette : SSB won't be able to make it, he is replaced by Obsidian.

I just sent the races by mail.

I got a question regarding the clarification : Are (in)famous coaching from BB2016 considered as stars, and thus, can be hired ?
