STABB Cup III - September 28/29 2013 - GEGGSTER wins!!!

Hello all,

It's that time of year again so here are the dates for STABB Cup III!

Once again we are tied into the CAMRA beer festival in St Albans and your entry to the tournament will include an entry ticket to the festival, queue jumper priorities, a pint glass and a cople of drink tokens for the Saturday night.

Rules are not yet fully nailed down but are likely to be very similar to last year.

One big change is that this year will be almost certainly be a 5-game event. This is for one reason: the NFL game at Wembley.

I have tickets, and I know a few others I've spoken to have too. The best solution as the game starts from 6pm is to finish early so 5 games would be the best solution to this. Hopefully that doesn't discourage too many.

So, let me know if you are interested again, entry cost to follow shortly but hoping to keep it the same as last year (£16 or so).

Will the skill sets used previously change with only having 5 games or will it more than likely work skill-per-game again?

I'd rather it was a six-game event - means the winner is generally the one who deserves the title - but if I want to keep the event tied to the beer festival (which I do), it would make having three games on the Sunday a real squeeze. I will have a think about it, but I'm unsure fitting 6 games in will work.

Skill sets will not change - one of the rounds will probably get you two skills rather than the usual one instead.

Ignore me. It's not the end of the world if it's a 5 game tournament by any means, being tied into the beer fest (even though I didn't make it last year ) makes it a cracking weekend all round and if an earlier finish on Sunday means less stress for you as the TO then it'll probably make for a better atmosphere too. Still plenty of Blood Bowl to be played.

Righto, here's an update for you all. Apologies it's taken me a while, been away on holiday and sorting out various bits and pieces.

Trophies are ordered and enquiries made about beer festival tickets. They have gone up by 50p, but I'm proposing to absorb that cost without raising ticket prices for the event. That might mean we have less 'extra' prizes like teams and models, but I only get those when I have an idea of how many are likely to come!

Rulespack has been sorted more or less (timings may change, but I'll notify of that when they do) and hopefully fairly shortly it will be confirmed as a NAF-ranked event for those who like chasing ranking points like Purplegoo.

Nothing more required, although Watford are not allowed to beat Town this year.
