Dobby Bowl 12/13th January 2013 NAF Ranked

Hi people, unfortunately stick will not be able to run poo bowl this year so I’m going to do a stand in tourney, I hope with its central location and being not very far at all from the normal location of the poo bowl I can interest the usual suspects to attend. without further a due I give you Dobby Bowl.

Venue

The venue is at Maelstrom Games where some of you will remember white isle was held last year. It’s a large gaming centre/shop/bar and a great gaming environment located very close to Mansfield train station for those travelling.

Matlock Mill
Hamilton Way
Mansfield
Nottinghamshire
NG18 5BU

https://www.maelstromgames.co.uk/

Accommodation

There are a couple of hotels near the venue including a travel lodge see link below.

http://www.yell.com/ucs/UcsSearchAction ... rds=hotels

Cost

The cost as it stands is £20(£25 non NAF includes membership) per person which includes dinner on both days.

The start times will be;
9am sat registration 4 games throughout the day, the bar will be open downstairs until midnight, will post exact times when I get the dinner times confirmed from the venue.
10am Sunday give a little time to nurse that hangover that I plan giving you all for a 3 games run, again will post accurate times when I get meal times confirmed.

Looks fun, but sadly I will be using my "winter" games quota on the Flamebowl. Sorry!

You will find that block dice are very very expensive to print.

The place we use charges 32p per side for an order of 100 dice. Thus a special D6 costs 32p, but a block dice costs £1.92, and would be £5.76 for a set of three!

Anyway, the company is:

Good luck with your tourney.

If I were the NAF I would also be reluctant to sanction something called "Dobby Bowl" :D

Cool rules though!

dont get the "Dobby" thing (Im being thick) do you all get the player rolled?? If so who supplies the model or do we all have to bring 1 of each...?? If thats the case Im out, dont want to bring team worth of additional models!!

Apart from that, seems OK

Depending what time off i can get depends if i go to this or Ironmanj.

So as a stunz team i get 10 skills and 2 stat increaces?!?

Block dice are expensive and take time to do but are a great gift.

Glow, I'd have thought one mini different from the team you're using to represent your Dobby would be sufficient.
And from my understanding after reading the rules everybodies Dobby takes on the same form for each round (different form each round too)

I agree with Buggrit. The Dobbys look amusing.

The number of skills, lack of skill repetition cap and double stacking will create some nasty teams, esp from tier 3.

Anyone want to face a claw POMB minotaur plus 3 more POMB marauders?

So that mini is a gutter runner in one round and a Krox in the next?

So everyone gets a halfling with loner (or whatever) that they HAVE to field if possible. Doesnt appeal to me Im afraid, TBH Wiltrshire to Mansfield at that time of year is going to be hit or miss anyway so Ill pass now, i do however wish you every success, its a great feeling running your own tourney.
