All teams are fun! Find the funnest star that you always wanted to use and build a team around it.
Transport is relatively easy. I found a train from Brighton to Nottingham with one change at London St Pancras that takes 3.5 hrs and costs £27 if you book early. Not too bad!

Castle Marina is closet to the venue (about a 10 minute walk, couple of minutes in a car/taxi).

I know the GW staff may be otherwise engaged that weekend, but if the rule is only GW minis, what should I use if I want to play Slann?
Hemlock would just be a skink mini with a stabber, but as far as I know, GW haven't produced BB Slann minis, although I may be wrong....

The most common conversion option is to use the 40K Kroot models. Chop off their weapons and either the spines on their heads or a plain head swap with skinks. It is pretty hard to make them look good using this method though.
The other option is to find some of the old skool GW slann models from e-bay and cut off the weapons. But that could get expensive.
You could try combining skinks with some other humanoid plastic model to make them frong men, maybe skink heads, kroot bodies and ghoul arms?

Cheers spubbbba. That sounds like a lot more converting than I was expecting although after looking through your blogs, you make it look pretty easy so maybe I'll give it a go Edit: I've just looked at the Kroots on the GW site and that'd be a helluva lot of converting. I could probably handle the odd weapon snip/reposition but that may be out of my league at the moment.... That's a shame because I really fancy taking Slann to a tourney but maybe I'll have to reconsider. Edit 2: GW wood elf team (bodies) + GW skink regiment (heads) = slann? hmmmm...... possibly, methinks. Edit 3: I've started a new thread about this in the Models forum. I figure that's a better place for this discussion.

Good to have you on board!
Don't forget that you can make a themed team using proxies as players.
For example, in game one of the NAFC this weekend I played against a guy using a "chaos dwarf" team using orcs as hobgoblins and orcs with armour as bull centaurs!!! Was a bit odd, but I got used to it.
So you could use some odd combination of humans and skinks maybe!!

Cheers Pete! It'll be good to play some real BB against real people again, as opposed to Fumbbl.
All I need to do now is get a team, buy some paints and remember how to use them. It has been quite a while since I painted anything.....

Both teams I took were Tier 2.... at least, according to my rules!
I only own dwarves, rats, darkies and orcs. It's not as if I play undead, amazon or woodies!!! Why all the hate! :'(
Thanks for the payment - Praxx!
