Darkson wrote:#1 - get an even number of teams, whether a normal team or "pirates". It will save so much hassle if you can get another team.

If you can't, you're going to have to draw the odd teams by hand every round, as Score can't cope. Means you're going to have to keep a record of who's played who previously, especially if you get one or two teams consistently in the bottom 3.
Cheers. Yeah, the 22nd team would be ideal but looking unlikely. Any takers?

If we need to do the three-way manually (snigger!) then I'm sure we can sort it...

Just thinking 'outlound' here. Having observed the shenanigans at the ARBBL pick and mix, I seem to remember that alot of the issue was that some of the teams at the bottom stayed there (as you would expect). So once you get to the second day, 2 of the 3 bottom teams may well have been having a lot of Three-Ways (cue Canned Laughter, will this ever get old?).

In order to ease the situation for the organising, could we agree before the tournamnet starts that the Three-Way will include 3 of the bottom 4 or 5 teams rather than the straight bottom 3? Might just leave a bit more leeway for organising without compromising the Swiss/Swiss principle much more than it is already with the team set up.

Put in a 'filler' team, then both teams and coaches for tables 1-9 will be correct. Manually jiggle teams 19-21 into their 3-way and you should be okay.

I don't get how work this "three way" thing.

Every round, 3 team choosen among the lowest will mix for a game ? That means 15 player so one of the 15 players won't play ?

How many people do you have in the organisation ? May be you can put together an organisation team ?

I am sure that if everybody looks into his own comunity of players, we may find 4 players for an international team. Or maybe 2 or 3 players that can be complete with players from organisation, can't we ?

I will ask on french forums.

12 players, not 15, so everyone will get a game.

Yeah with 21 teams there'd be 9 binary matchups and one three-way i.e. 12 players, 6 games, all played against a new opponent from a different team.

I am in fact attempting to gather together some interested parties into a mercenary foursome, to make us up to twenty two teams and therefore an even number.

If the mercenary team does happen, I'll most likely close registration at 88 players and 22 teams. Thereafter only pairs of teams (8 players) would be eligible for registration.

Team Stripper won't be in the bottom three. We have hired a ringer:

Possible unlikely idea, but you could do a "Saturday team" and a "Sunday team" for those who can only make one day? I could possibly be part of the Saturday team, for example...

Tis an option, but I'm focusing on the idea of a 22nd Merc team. There are a few possibles out there for both days so we'll see how that unfolds first. Will keep you posted.

Ze Germans will need a substitute for planlos, who had to drop out unfortunately. :-(

Please contact me via PM if you're interested.

We've reached out to a couple of people, but chances are high we'll need a spare player

Just have Purplegoo play 4 games simoultaneously for the filler team. I heard they do that at Chess, so should be a fair challenge :-)

You've got to handicap me somehow. Making me play with those losers helps everyone. ;)
