We have a set schedule Dreadball league and allow MVPs to be purchased at 1.5 x starting cost, rounding up...with underdog bonus money only. So far it's worked out ok.

We apply the following pricing to MVPs:

2 x minimum price: MVPs who can only play for one team

3 x minimum price: MVPs who can play for some, but not all, teams

4 x minimum price: MVPs who can play for all teams

This preserves some of the ideal of an auction, without the mechanics. It means the lesser MVPs get taken. The best MVPs only get taken if the underdog bonus is big. It seems also to roughly align with Free Agent pricing and (importantly I feel) the TR value of rostered players with equivalent skills to MVPs.

Hope that helps.

Had my final S3 stuff turn up today, just in time to our league in the next month or so.
Now, just need to get someone to assemble and paint the 8+ teams....

Thanks for the alternate ideas on MVPs. Sounds simpler than what I was considering and preferable if it's working. :)

S3 stuff turned up? I'll need to start stalking my mail carrier. 8)

I've been on the look out ever since Darkson posted that, but no luck so far.

Got mine, contains quite a few extra models over what was promised in striker (the prones come bundled with another 3 models). As I had bought a couple of season 2 teams the extra bits have allowed me to make an extra judwan, zor and female human team!

Yup, I have to say everything about the Kickstarter has ben delivered on time, and above my expectations. I too got a few minis (~12) "on top" of what was promised, and have now added a very attractive, functional and most of all fun game to my collection.

Some are receiving metal minis and the restic formula seems to be better now. They ordered too few restics, so they are casting more in metal. The problem is that metal shrinks less than restic. Oh, well... it was in time.

No metal flexible me, other than the KS exclusive figure.

My S3 stuff showed up today. I did not have time to inventory whats there, but it looks like at least the terrapins are metal, very heavy. :)

On a separate note, the Mars Attack Kickstarter now has a Martian Dreadball team for a $20 pledge, 8 figs. Yup, I'm a sucker, all in. :D
