Are there any French people who can keep us informed on whether the airport will be affected by the planned strikes? Or if there are any planned at all?

What I have read so far people flying to biarritz directly should be ok. If the strike escalates rail-roads are most likely to be affected, so if you've got a bit of travel by train planned in France, beware. I have also read about getting the air traffic controllers on board for the strike, but I can't find the article now, so I'm looking at that as a good sign.

Sorry guys, but I can't respond this question. Who knows what will really happen?
Not me.

You should better ask your train or flight company.

Wish everything will be all right for everyone.

Not asking you to be psychic, just to relay what you read in the papers or hear on the news daily... you know, the general mood of the crowd and the media.

In other countries we obviously only get a limited overview, and my French isn't good enough to read articles on French sites...

I can confirm you there is a main strike on october 12 . They talk about unlimited strike but it depends of many things (governement reaction, syndicalits, workers etc...)

I try to keep you informed.

Sorry to be psychic but all that I can do for you is to pray for you .

Stay aware of news with your travel company. ;)

The strikes for today were pretty well advertised and I don't think they're a good indication for the situation on thursday/friday. Tomorrow we'll see if the strikes will be renewed on a daily basis and which industries will be involved.

Oh, and I have no idea which particular services were cancelled today, to answer your question :-?

Well our flight leaves from London about lunch time tomorrow.

My plan is to keep my fingers crossed! We have a spare day if there's a glitch, so hopefully we will be there in time! ;-)

There was a slight tail-back at the gas station yesterday. I checked I have enough to return the rental car to the airport and get back a filled-up one on sunday evening. I don't know how quickly France tends to run out of gas. The next big day is Tuesday the 19th, so that should not affect the Eurobowl too much.

Are the busses between the airport and venue running normally?

Nevermind, there is not even a regular bus service when I arrive (21:30).
