Headsplitter is the greatest failure of Skaven breeding ever – that Rat Ogre is almost clever. Actually it’s quite possible to unchain Headsplitter and let him take a stroll without endangering the local cattle, autograph hunters, or worse, beer storerooms. Headsplitter is even capable of turning freelancer on his own, but then the High Skaven of Clan Rigens figured that it wouldn’t be that smart to turn him loose, as he might end up playing for Norse, Orc or, brrr, Humans. But as Headsplitter is still one of the most powerful Rat Ogres and his intelligence allows him to do a bit more than just charging in a fury at those blurred and moving dots, he is a much asked for player among Skaven teams. Actually every Skaven coach wants him, and that’s the second reason why the Clan Rigens decided to keep Headsplitter under control. The alternative would have been that their best Skaven teams would have killed each other over the course to obtain him. To avoid this, the High Skaven of Clan Rigens have figured out an extremely complicated timetable for Headsplitter that tells exactly when and who might hire him. As it turned out, no one but the High Skaven can make head or tail out of that timetable and cloaked figures in dark alleys are whispering that Headsplitter goes wherever the bets of the High Skaven go. Always follow the smell of warpstone, as they say. If Headsplitter is bothered by this, who knows, but as long as he gets his mutton every day and is allowed to stroll into the next beer storeroom once in a while, he ought to be fine.
