Post by sann0638 »

Hi,
hopefully this thread will contain all the information you need about the 3rd NAF World Cup. It will mirror the one on the NAF forum. There is also a Facebook event here: https://www.facebook.com/events/1646947355521905/

Registration has now completed, and there are 912 players going! http://worldcup.luccini.it/

Link to World Cup Q&A Thread on the NAF Forum

Where?
Lucca, Italy: http://www.luccafiere.it/come_raggiungerci.php

How?
The structure is the same as last time:

- 9 games over 3 days

Here is the full Rules Pack.
- German Rules Pack
- French Rules Pack

You can find lots of details about the Italian bid from the bid document on this thread: http://member.thenaf.net/index.php?name ... pic&t=6198

And you can get a taste of Lucca from this video, found in the bid document: http://www.luccini.it/wc2015/Lucca.wmv

We'll look forward to seeing all of you there.

Hello!

I've been asked a question today and I have no response as I can't find the ruleset...

Is it possible for a team to play with 7 players? Only 6 play the round and one player rest. Then this player play the next round and another one has the bye.

Thanks in advance!

Pretty sure that wouldn't have been in the ruleset anyway! (though I have added a link to the rules from last year).

Will pass the question on, but will probably need some consideration.

Murley,

Don't take this as stone fact until I fully check, but I'm sure one team did this previously. I think 5 played all 9 but two of the team felt 9 in 3 days was too much for them so I think they shared?

Admin wise - bloody nightmare, esp if using two different races. I think Gaixo would need to be consulted along with the organisers as they would need to be confident on tracking the players correctly.

Just to clarify...

In this case, team members are not feeling that 9 games are so much. They are 7 basque lifelong buddies and their intention is to play in the same team 'Basque barbarians' 8)

Hi Mur, sorry to have missed your question until now. I'll bring that up to Beppe and the organizers, but I would be inclined against allowing it. Keeping track of results on that scale will be difficult enough without odd numbers of team members.

(The obvious solution is to form a second Basque team. :smoking:)

Date and venue are 100% sure? I'm going to make a reservation for our accomodation, close to the venue.
Thx

Further Information would be highly appreciated for planning :)

Especially will there be special discount hotels nearby? Do we have to do reservations on our own? Or is it like Eurobowl where we got it with the money we sent? What will the costs be?

Is coming soon this week?

I've just read the rules which are now up and although there is a large section on transport details there is none on accomodation, this is quite important for travel arrangements too.

Also is there going to be a section for arraging teams, it mentions about arranging before registering so this could be started sooner rather than later. also doesn't mention about registering as individuals to create teams.

For the record, myself and JT-Y are looking for a team, as we really want to go xxx

Very fair questions. In drafting the rules document, we followed the lead of the previous World Cups in leaving lodging, registration, and payment information out of it. This is so that the organizers in Lucca can make their own announcements or alterations without having to go through us each time (though we will help them to spread the word, of course).

My understanding is that the information you're after will be included on the WC site when it launches in a few weeks. At this point, I'm just as anxious to get my registration and arrangements in order as you are.

I'm only browsing on my phone, but I'm really struggling to find any info about the NAF World Cup on the NAF site. What/where is it?

There's a thread in the forum, and now the rules have been confirmed it will appear in the tournament listing - it's a quirk that until the rules are confirmed then tournaments don't appear.
