Unless air fares go through the roof I will be flying and getting as many hours chilling in Amsterdam as I can before the tourney. If you drive expect to be leaving home at 4am uk, ferry port 1 hour before sailing, dover channel crossing of 1 1/2 hours, arrive in Amsterdam at 4pm European time, traffic permitting. Cheap but time consuming! Amsterdam is very expensive for parking. A road trip may be enjoyable but then so are the bars and coffee shops of Amsterdam which is what you maximise by flying because you can be in them for breakfast time. :smoking: :smoking: :smoking:

@shanie - Manc or Liverpool to 'Dam is between £50 and £100 for return flights (avg £75). Accommodation in 'Dam is going to be about £25 to £33 per night, so if you're wanting Thurs, Fri, Sat & Sun then expect £100 to £132 (avg £116). Add ticket (avg £125) and you're looking at approx £316. If you can put aside £1 per day from now till the event then you've got it sorted.

Awwww. That is a shame. Those dates mean I can't go as being a teacher, there is no way I can get the Friday off work. I guess I could try to make it for the weekend, but for the expense it probably wouldn't be worth it.

Have fun guys! I'm sure it will be excellent!

Of course you will need that many french coaches to retain your title. :P
You really think that they will let us win again ?

Maybe some dutch people could tell us if the torny will be wide open or if the seats will be limited ? It's very important to know if each Nation will have a number of slots (like for the 2007 WC) and, if yes, how many ?

Thanks

Marco

Last time we had had 272 coaches. This time, we have room for many more.

This could be a very, seriously, big tournament. We were limited in 2007 by GW hall size and the pub up the road but we knew we had to move up from that this time. It does mean going up in terms of size of facility/rooms and that may mean it costs a little more but that needs confirming. The good news is the more there are the cheaper per player it gets but we are not talking about a small venue here.

But at this stage, I think it's a case of get everyone in. I will need to let the team confirm this (and I am due an update soon) but I think 400 to 500 is still absolutely fine. With that comes enormous logistical challenges. All can be done of course, plenty bigger things happen every day, but this is still a huge operation for us if that many want to come.

I know the team are working on this right now. Housing, feeding, transport logistics, entertainment post game, etc etc.... much to be nailed down but the date and venue fixed. Just got to keep costs as low as we can I think.

It is already posted in NAF forum that pre-registration will be open at 18th Dec.

Any new about if veteran teams will have priority to get place?

Thanks guys for your work.

ruleset; we're busy negotiating at the moment so no time for that, yet. Expect it to be mostly similar to the previous years

Read the announcement- just a question about the team size: will it be 6 or 8 players per team?

Possible streetbowl and colleges of magic. Will have to take a look at both rules of those games.

I'm sure I'm just being dense but where is all the info for the 2011 World Cup on the NAF site?

I've had a search and couldn't find it. Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers

DT
