Not to stir the pot or anything, but is there anyone in the community who works for GW, and can give any insight into whether the heavy's at GW took notice of just how massive this World Cup was?

Well, JJ said they did/have.
There was at least one GW employee playing in the WC, but for the life of me I can't recall who he was, or if he comes to TBB.

I dunno mate, at the Blood Bowl that time you couldn't even remember what time games started on the Sunday and very nearly made me default the game and you were a referee...
*well that's my story and I'm sticking to it, even without my righteously deserved NAF points for game 4... *

Apparently Jervis's boss's boss was in the bar and saw all the 216 coaches in Warhammer world playing BB. So he might even have a budget.

Apparently Blood Bowl World Cup had the biggest ever turnout of any Games Workshop related event. I read the figure as 272 attendees. Right or wrong lets hope it makes GW realise that there is still a huge market out there.

@ DaImp - couldn't fit us all in to WarHammer World , there was an overspill into the White Hart pub down the road. So they couldn't see everyone... which was just as well, some of us were very ugly

I guess the problem is how a bb team has like 12-16 players compared to a warhammer army consisting of many minis.

Seriously though, how many people do you know who play regularly who have resisted the urge to buy more than one team?

It contained a load of mutants etc though, not mentioning a ton of big guys who I didn't even get to paint before LRB 5 was issued and I chaos could only use minotaurs

It's a good point. My old 40K Army (Eldar) was only about 50-60 figures.
I have (guessing) 14 or 15 bloodbowl teams, with support staff. Plus stars and referees. An average of more than 20 figs per team when your break it down.
Conclusion - GWs 16 figures per player theory can suck my nuts.

Everyone at our club who plays Blood bowl apart from 1 has at least 3 full teams some of us have many more on the other hand those that play 40k mostly have 1500 - 2000 point armies and there they stop

I dread to think how many teams I have.
At least a dozen ( many with support staff?
