What a weekend, 3 days of BloodBowl mayhem with almost 300 other coaches. I played 9 great games against 9 coaches I had never played before, which made it even more fun.
In the end I had a 7/0/2 record with my Wood Elves and 32 TD's.
Congratz to Team Azes and Planlos for their titles.
It really was an event to remember, thanks to everyone involved.
Cheers.

The World Cup was brilliant - a million miles better than the GT. Loads of atmosphere and colour as well as an abundance of nice people. It was a pleasure being part team Damn Yankees and all the guys on the team were great. As a team, we had an up and down weekend results wise (actually that should be down then up). On day 1 of the team event, we were drawn against the Aros Superstars (who would end up second in the whole event) and managed a solitary win and 5 losses. We then followed that with a win, a draw and 4 losses vs Flame On A before finishing the day with just a draw vs the Belgians. However, day 2 saw much better things on the horizon as we spanked Team Cornwall 4 wins, 1 draw, 1 loss on the bottom table and then followed that up with a doinking of Flame On B 5 wins to 1. We finished up back in the main hall playing french team, Do Brajil. I don't know the final tally against them, but we got at least a win and a draw.
My individual record was W 4 D 4 L 1, which was better than I expected when I arrived. My necros had a NAF score of 121 before this tournament, but I managed to squeeze a win against Liam's Undead (NAF score 211) and Topper, as well as a draw vs Tarra, so hopefully, that should rise a little.
A few highlights:
- My team mates on Damn Yankees were great fun and it was a pleasure spending the weekend with them. Schawn and his dice tower was a definite highlight!
- Getting off to a winning start against Liam who I thought was going to spank me.
- Watching Tarra fail a hand off on turn 16 that would have given him the win...
- My French opponent David who was hilarious and his relentless dodging in of gutter runners to try and 1/2d blitz my ball carrier. They all ended up off the pitch. First one - 'Ok, here comes RRRRRodriguezz!' - KO, 'Oh, here is the brother of RRRRodriguezz!' - KO, 'Ok, here comes the revenge of the brother of RRRodriguezzz...' etc. Really nice bloke. Oh, taking his Rat Ogre off the pitch on a 1/2 d blitz with my wolf was also cool!
- Catching up with some of the guys who attended the Waterbowl last February.
- Playing both Flame On teams from Manchester - a good laugh both times, despite Jonny completely owning me!
Already looking forward to the next one! Thanks a lot to all of the organisers and also all of the coaches who made it the great weekend it was
Cheers

Well, I like the NAF figures.
Even filled out my team with some Goblin Forge cartoon humans.
Just got to find someone good enough to paint them now...

Yes, that's us. Great team shirts, not so great dice...
I had a fantastic weekend, though, particularly enjoying my Sunday games against Tir Na Nog John's completely teetotal vamps who killed me, Cornish Matt's (?) lizards who obligingly keeled over and a v close game against Oz's Angus with end-to-end skaven vs high elf antics.
Top weekend, cheers to all I spent time with and organised things

- Going way off topic here for a moment, could you tell me what this means? There's an Irish Pub in Aarhus with this name

Well I couldn't be much worse than the Vampire Player on my Team. By Game 8 he had managed to kill 30 of his own Thralls through Blood Lust..... 30 What was it with these Vamp's did they prefer the taste of Thrall Blood to that of thier opponenets?
