But what about an ogre with a ball, and 5 snots climbing up him to try and get it. Surely the size of the players would allow adjustments?

Do entries have to be by people who are actually at the WC? My GF is thinking of sending an entry, but she won't be there.

boondog wrote:Another question: Suppose I turn in a whole team, complete with sideline staff, Big Guy and Star player, all done-up in the team's general appearance, colour scheme etc., maybe even all placed on one scenic base. Would this entry be regarded solely as an entry for the "best team" event, or would judges consider the relevant parts of the entry for the other categories? Could they, e.g., discard the team as a whole from the "best team" competition while picking the Big Guy in it to proceed to the finals of the "best Big Guy" event?
No that would be too tricky to organise en masse. For example, if we have 100s of coaches chopping and changing entries over the weekend it will be a nightmare trying to keep track of which ones have made the cut and which ones haven't. In the example above, if you have individual parts which you think might be better than others it'd be better for you to submit them individually. For instance if your big guy is awesome, your coaching staff are good but your team is only OK, split them up and you're much more likely to make the first cut at the very least.

Why is "Best Star Player" limited to the available LRB5 Stars as opposed to the available stars "minis-wise" (or "fluff-wise")? Now there's guys like Dieter Hammerslash or Bilerot Vomitflesh unable to compete.. they won't be happy about that..
Good point. The reasoning behind this was two-fold. The first, and most important, was to ensure no-one tried to enter Thrud as a star player to avoid any awkward IP issues. The second was that I simply assumed the new, larger list of stars in LRB5 would be enough. I'll edit the original rule to allow 2nd ed stars though I personally doubt that the old, fairly rubbish looking 2nd ed models would be as appealing to painters as either the newer star models or conversions.

This is a tricky question. Without the painter being there it makes it possible for people to enter commission jobs and collect the prize on behalf of someone else, keeping the prize when they walk away.

Granted it's possible for people to enter commission work as their own and lie anyway, but I'd like to think everyone here is honest enough to not do this.

Let me get back to you, need to think about it.
