I really hope there are plenty of non-European coaches because without them the title of "World" Cup could become a little bogus, throwing into question the decision to replace Eurbowl 2007...

Got to say I have my doubts about the WC as it has been put forward so far. However, it looks as though it is a done deal and I agree that the NAF would look bad with GW if it is not a success.

I understand that the WC is already being advertised in White Dwarf. This means there is likely to be a significant number of UK entrants who know nothing about NAF, TBB or Eurobowl, or for whom this will be their first tournament. How will we engage these people in the tournament?

thats a good point.

maybe it could be sorted by a proper rules pack ie something that does not have the word "army" in it.

If they where sent a rules pack stating the dungeonbowl rules, Streetbrawl (which i glad to see is being updated by Xtreme, good work fella), or whatever extra games there are to be.

Also if the rules pack said you must return a form stating which game, which nationality etc it would save alot of time and confusion on the first day.

Just a little thought as i have my first cup of coffee of the day :)

Is it not a NAF only tournament then?

i don't see why not

but you could just include the price of membership in the ticket price.

Association NAF is organising it... should be NAF, and put it in the price for the non naf (yet).

I think that would definitely be the plan, as it is with many other tournies now. What better way to encourage BB than by charging a ticket price but giving dice away on the door too ;)

I see nothing wrong with inducements if stars and cards arent allowed.
That way the flings can induce the chef etc.
Also 110 k is far better than 100 k, in making a more balanced and less luck dependent team.
Another factor is skills - the less skills the more luck dependent.
In the ideal tournament I think each team should start with fx. 1-2 skills and then be able to add another skill to any player that haven´t got one after each game.

in the DK championships we even went as far as ranking the teams in groups. Where group one were the strongest teams, two the middle group and three the weakest.
The group number dictated how many skills each team could choose before the tournament.

This went very well, and is the best way to make all teams equally competitive.

advice: try to keep it simple.

I know this is a big opportunitie to try funny, cool stuffs.

But there will be a lot of players... be sure the rules are clear to everybody is the best way to handle it. imho

90% of tournies are running the same way. take it. Most of players are used to it. Or be prepared to have a lot of explanation to give during the tourny. and may be some disappiontment if players dont like the rules you put in.

I know if you keep simple rules, where is the flavour? i never found real Flavour in rules. The tourny and the players that are in give the tourny Flavour most of the time.

On the Oz front, we had a team - ready for MARCH!

When people found out it had been changed October, most pulled out.

Not sure who's still available.
