NAF Sanctioning at events with none NAF registered coaches

Post by frogboy »

@OfficialNAF #bloodbowl last tournement i went to played 6 games only 3 recorded, all losses minus 10 CR :(
Thoughts?

Should the NAF be giving out Sanctioning at events where this happens, tbh im not really that fussed about the CR, i didnt take a serious roster, but I do run an event going into second year. This sutuation didnt come up last year but with BB2016 and new players about it could likely happen and i just want to be prepared.

Ah, the joy of posting the same thing in different places. Which tournament? We need to work with TOs to encourage NAF sign up, but can't force it on people, obviously.

Yeah i shared this different places to see if there would be any different ideas about it.

Im not picking on this event, its the first time its happened to me....

I wanted to suggest if its an idea that the NAF will allow sign ups free of charge for players attending their first event with the option of donating money for the free gift.
Perhaps for a limited period like 6 months or whatever.

Sann im not really sure why its important which event it happened at. Im not asking for someone to chase this up. I'm asking about what the NAF can do about this happeneing again in the future.

You said its obvious that you cant force sign ups, why?

NAF Sanctioned has rules. Why not include being registered as one??

I get around this by offering free, first time, membership at Exiles events. I soak up the cost in the ticket sales and it guarantees everyone is a NAF member :)

TOs! You do not need multiple copies of rosters. It's a waste of paper.

Yes will have to do this too. Looks like i make a loss again this year.

Just out of imterest. Do you keep the free gift if you pay? Think i will offer this if people dont want to pay the 5 pound and then ebay gifts to try and claw back some funds.

Have never heard of anyone not wanting to pay the £5, but may have missed it. It's not very much money.

I let them keep the gift, it's part of being a NAF member. I also know I'm not the only one who does this as I've been to several events, as NAF staff, and the TO has paid the new member fees.
If you are making a loss you need to put aside a little for this and if you don't need it (say put £50 aside and only 2 new members turn up, you have £40 left over) put the left over towards the following year.

A non member? Even after "free" membership? I was always under the impression that only NAF members can win a NAF trophy. Happy to be corrected by those higher up, if I'm wrong.

Yeah some people will just refuse straigjt to join weather its free or not. Im guessing a none member wont be entitled to win the trophy.

Just checking NAF site
https://www.thenaf.net/wp-content/uploa ... t_2017.pdf

It says nothing about a recipient of a NAF trophy having to be a NAF member.
