Hey, I'm a 1/4 Maltese, does that mean I can join the Maltese team?
Eh... oh hang... nevermind...
Well no questions on my Jockometer being high enough

No, in international teams you just need to be the citizen of that country. That's why some national coaches push forward the naturalization of foeigners who play in the national league, have the skills and want to play for that countries team (like south american playres who aren't nominated for the national team of their home countries).
But in the UK everyone have British passports, right?

basically over here everyone has a brittish passport. if you want to play for one of the native countries (i wanted a better word than native but oh well) then you either have to have been born there, have a family member born there (up to grand parents) or have lived in that country for 5 years (the nationalisation thing) i know in belgium it's a lot quicker for nationalisation, not sure about germany though.
anyway that's basically it. the 3 main ways. oh and yeah scotland do have they're own football leagues.
