Travelling with minis

Post by darthnoir »

What experience have people had trying to bring minis (specifically metal ones) as carry-on luggage? I'm trying to basically travel light, and not check any luggage in for my flight to the UK.

I'm in no way trying to start a political debate...but given the "Heightened Alert" in the US, I'm concerned that airline security may go nonlinear on me and decide my minis are "dangerous".

I'm also trying to decide if it's worth bringing the range ruler with, given the wording on the longest passing range...then again, maybe I'm just being silly!

I was fine carrying mine as hand luggage from Stockholm to Amsterdam.

One word of advice as regards the "no luggage" thing....remember they even look down on Razorblades badly, so if you want to go that route either grow a beard or bring an electric.

I believe some guys from leadership10.com have flown with warhammer armies overseas, some in cases some in hand luggage. Think one of them even does his painting on the plane. Maybe you should drop them an email and ask.

I used to be King of not checking my lugguage until after 9/11. Now I just check it all so don't have to worry about them getting upset over something small. I'm just going to pack my minis with my clothes and pray it all makes it on the correct plane.

Made it on the plane without any trouble with my minis.

They did take a second look with the x-ray machine at my bag with the minis case inside. But no further issues past that.
