Painting award - what's elgible

Post by Indigo »

I've spent at least the last month, and expect to spend the next one painting my new team. However, I've painted up a star player and a big guy to give me flexibility when it comes to my final team choice.

In particular, I've made a half-decent conversion for the Ogre.

I was wondering - can my team be made up of players who may not be in the tourny (e.g. the Ogre) but would normally be part of my team? Reason being, I don't want me painting effort to go wasted if only my actual roster will be judged.

A minor worry I know. but I want to give this tourney my best shot!

as far as i've understood the rules of the painting comp, only the team that takes part is counted. so i would take this as the ogre is only counted if its on your roster.

but then what do i know...

... :?: oh yeah not a lot.

When I won last year I had a couple of extra minis that I didn't use in the game that were part of my team (like the chainsaw guy), so I don't see why not.

Damn good question. I'm debating on taking a thrower but only because it's the coolest painted mini of the bunch. It would be nice to set up the team and have the thrower there adding class.

Use any spare players/coaching staff as TRR and turn counters.

My painting may be average at best, but the judges are gonna have to be impressed by a team with over 40 models aren't they? I'm going to put out EVRYTHING - including the Ogre, the Halflings and the Humans from my "Old World" line up and my team's brass section.

Thadrin: if you bring 40 minis maybe should bring some WHFB as Fan factor -Just a joke, but maybe some people thinks this way-

I just hope I end all minis for the tournament... only have 6 painted and non had the base ended... I'm really late...

Yeah, realisticly I don't stand a hope in Hades next to guys like you, Del, Ant and Ramz...but a team the size of mine will at least attract some attention.

you see....I REALLY don't stand a chance in the painting awards. If only I could be bothered completely repainting my team...

thad: don't worry, painted dwarf minis look much more better than lizard minis... to be honest I'd like to try at painting contest with those dwarfs, now I changed team so this posibility don't exist.
