straume wrote:"Best at race" is actually an interesting idea, suited for a big event as this. 24 prizes may seem a bit excessive, but if you get, say, 5 teams per race that means you qualify for a "best of race"-award? Would also give incentive to more varied race-picks overall.
Just a certificate or even a pair of NAF dice or some block dice would be something, I'd do it as long as 2 people turned up with the same race just to give them something extra to play for over the weekend.

Agree with many of the above,

Great event (my first NAF, but certainly not my first war-games tournament and as a former organiser for various non BB tournaments, the NAF set a really high standard)

Great reffing, well communicated, good use of microphone :), but projected clock would be good.

Lunch was OK, but could be improved considering cost, even just a third option or the inclusion of a drink voucher?

Name badges would help, improves inclusivity and if someone introduces themselves as a weird NAF name and you forget it can feel a bit awkward.

The duel competition was probably the biggest let down (no disrespect to the winner at all, whom i voted for), I'd be keen to hear JTY's ideas on this and maybe get involved in the future. I would suggest adding a second single miniature (perhaps star players only) category would be a starting point. I was surprised to only see 3 entries and disappointed i didn't have more time to get involved.

Look forward to seeing you all again next NAFC if not before.

I've been to tournaments where they gave a certificate to the best placed coach for all 24 races, and it made the awards ceremony really, really tedious. But presenting this information after the fact can't hurt.

I was imagining - Amazons, sann, clap, Chaos, Joe, clap, ... no-one coming up to the stage.

+1 for best in race awards. Would give us chumps something to play for, even if it's just a certificate afterwards rather than part of the awards ceremony.

You could even just do best in race for the tier 2 teams to encourage more people to take them, and a wider variety of them too.

More prizes! Award ceremony is long enough for the 99% of coaches who didn't win the bum fight lol (I joke I joke)

Seriously it's nice to award the winners and recognise the painting etc, but to read out of list of 24 names at the end would be long and I think would take away from the real achievers, I think just post the list online.

If you want more prizes get more spot prizes per round or something that can be given away during the event.

Obviously there are some different opinions on this one, not trying to argue. I like th idea of the certificates but perhaps recieve them in the post or printable after the event via an email or something with a list and a little write up on t NAF site?

How about printing off the winners of each race, then putting that up on the wall like with rounds; then after the ceremony the coaches collect their certificates from where they are laid out along a few tables at the back. Pretty fast I imagine.

Yes. Because it took forever at the World Cup, I was actually aware of myself ageing.

Maybe deciding the winners now is a bit of a piss take though.

Needs to be announced before the event - one reason for doing it is to encourage diversity.

If you win Best Amazon Coach next year Mike I will be suspicious.

Especially if you play something else.

How about an award for most fouls, best fouler, foul champion, foulish award, foul bowl. Mmm Foul Bowl sounds good but isn't there already an event in the near future with fouling as a theme, dosn't have to be exclusive I guess...

That would be fun and fluffy, as the lower teir team try everything to desperately complete for glory amongst the giants at the biggest singles event of the season...

Lost your first game at the NAFC, still want a chance to be on the podium? Then stick the boot in and Foul for Victory!

It was just a suggestion having seen it work well at other events and it didn't add that long to the awards ceremony even with 18 or so wfb races but how about as a couple of people have suggested quickly announce the winners but make it clear that you can pick up your certificate/dice after the ceremony. Or make it just for tier 2&3 races.

Red Card Magnet is already an award at some events... ;)

It added a very long time to the end of the WC. As already noted...

It did, in fairness.
