Tourney rookie here, planning on taking 11 players. Wise or not?

I guess it depends upon their AV and their cost..

11 Goblins?

11 Dwarves? You'll do well to be able to afford any more than that anyway....

I'm taking 12 players, but then I have eschewed the option of a star (plus, Zombies are not exactly expensive...)

I am taking 11 and an Apoth, which is effectively 12. What is your team? Kinda makes a difference.

I am planning on taking 11 Orcs, all AV9.
This includes Varag.
But only 1 Fan Factor (unless I drop one Black Orc for a Lineman and +3FF).
I only started playing a few months ago and I have not faced that many different teams.
Choices choices...

FF1 could be a huge risk... in 6 games you will have a minimum of 12 kick offs (more if Varag scores twice a game!)...

Sods law determines that you will suffer at least 1 throw a rock, 1 pitch invasion and about 4 cheering fans results..

These figures are very approximate, but you get the idea...

I'm taking orcs too, struggling with selection. Only picked league team rosters before.

i take orcs and i'm struggling as well. i will take 11 players + 1 goblin weapon or 12 orcs or just 11 orcs.

i dont know how people manage to take that varag guy. i don't think jump up will be very usefull once pilled on  . it's a waste of money. he costs 3 RR (actually 2 since he gives you one) for not much. :-?

What do you think? Did the lizzard team had a star or an apo last year?

I'll be honest... I think this is starting to get out of hand... at the end of the day, it's about having fun, enjoying yourself, making new friends, meeting up with old ones, and then smashing the hell out of them..

The more I try to plan my team the more confused I get. I've changed teams 4 times in the last 2 weeks alone. I play BB against myself (very sad, no friends  ) so I can playtest different scenarios and tactics..

Everyone should bring whatever team they are used to playing and expect to win 3 games and lose 3 games, expect to get drunk and have a hangover, and expect to meet some nice new friends..

At the end of the day, the greatest tactician of all is undone by double skulls while the rookie who has no real idea of how to play can win if he rolls nothing but 6s...

I'm just glad this isn't a chess tournament...

alright, i completly agree with you for the drinking and hangover stuff. I'm not sure of wining 3 games out of 6 but i don't really give a damn. My friends will still talk to me after that.

I'm just gonna do the way i like it and that's it. :D chainsawstyle!!!

P.S.: Too bad i still can't see your face coz' of that guy standing in front.

good spirit norsca....

`The reason BB is so popular (one reason in fact) is the high place of hazard and the chance for treehead like me to win a league...

(and biohazard for ldauguet team)

True about those skulls Norse. I thrashed all my experienced opponents in the last mini-tournament I took part in and then went and got beaten by newbies in the next couple of games soon after.
