And someone left a floater in one of the toilets. I blame the NAF and their overspending.

I liked the food, not to everyone's taste, but that meant I got more!

Again last like last year I understand that catering for so many is difficult, but the sandwiches were meh (sunday tasted stale) and the ''curry'' had exactly zero taste whatsoever. Expect that the Venue requires that we get food through them, and I know it would have been expensive which is what annoys me.

If there was an option to pay less and sit in my car to eat a packed lunch, then i would definitely take up that offer.

I had a pot noodle on Sunday morning and sadly it was tastier than anything we were given at the venue!
Really?
If you truly believe that then I think the fact you prefer pot noodle to actual food says a lot.

The announcements had to be made, and you cant announce/get capes out until everyone is seated, so the timing of that is always going to be hard. Regular time checks are also needed. Maybe giving a tap on the mic to stop Loki having a brown pants moment would work?

Lunches appeared to shrink on Sunday: Saturday had bottled water included, Sunday did not. Lunch was ok otherwise.

Dinner needed more.
More portions; coming from a catering background I know how hard it is to get portion size right for 160-170 meals that are served in that fashion, but the "extras" (naans, mini poppadums etc) were mostly gone by the time I got there. Though that may be certain people taking more than 1 portion each :pissed:
More choice; generic "curry" is not for everyone. Maybe ask the caterers to provide a couple of choices next year?
More seasoning, even it is just salt & pepper sachets on the side. (If they were already there, apologies, I didn't see them.)

Organising a BB event is like herding a bunch of Blood Bowlers (worse than cats), so very well done in getting everything done timely and efficiently. From the moment I arrived to the end of Sunday I knew exactly what was going on.

Re the draw; I asked Geggster about the use of a projector and putting it on a big screen last year and was told cost prohibited it. I can believe that! Getting it online was a good way of getting the draw to as many people as possible. I already do that at my, small fry, events so it was good to see it done at this much larger do. Keep it up :)

I found out who had won the final long before the awards; is there any way to keep that a secret to build up the suspense and surprise? At the last award, for the winner, could you get both finalists on the stage and announce the runner up and winner at the same time?

I’ll be coming back again, whatever. The feeling of playing in that atmosphere, and seeing and socialising with friends I only get to see at events like this, is worth the trip, even if the cost is a little on the high side ;)

TOs! You do not need multiple copies of rosters. It's a waste of paper.

Had pot noodle due to the convenience, not because it is nice. The saturday evening meal tasted worse (actually I'm not even sure it 'tasted' at all :P), which is the point i was making.

Apologise if having an opinion in a feedback thread is overstepping the mark, but i also dont think that snide remarks upon my opinion are required either.

I had no problems at all with the announcements, neither the volume nor the frequency. Was a bit hard to hear sometimes due to some announcers having suboptimal microfone technique.

Getting the draws on my phone was neat.

The food was good as well I thought, just stepping out and grabbing a bag/plate was really convenient. No complaints about the taste either. But as a foreigner who don´t know how british cuisine is supposed to taste I might have lower standards!

The tables were too wide and made it a bit tricky at times. Good chairs though.

The venue itself was great. Good A/C, lots of space, easily accessible water to drink, bar for the beer and plenty of toilets so that there never was any waiting time.

Thing I would like: Some kind of name tag or something with NAF-name and a flag so that you can see nationality easily. Just because I am curious.

All in all very happy with the event.

Loved the venue , it was great. The hall and the hotel.

Announcements - it was brilliant, they were all clear and gave plenty of information so everyone knew what was going on.
The only (very minor) complaint is at the start of round 6 I think a lot of people wanted to know who was in the final so for a better sense of theatre I think that should be announced first rather than when the draw is up and everyone already knows (especially as this year it was unclear who'd get the place from the tie break).

Food - Pretty bland and unexciting but really can't expect anything else for 160 ish people so not much that can get done without , I assume, a pretty big cost increase.

AFAIK people only did this once the queues had gone. Could be wrong though.

I know at least one person who did, as they told me! And I saw others with 2 naans, for example, and I certainly wasnt near the back of the queue. But people grabbing more than 1 portion is not something the NAF can control.

Or is it....?

Apart from whatever poisoned me on the Saturday night* ;) I thoroughly enjoyed it. Will definitely be back next year. Especially as living where I do guarantees me the title....

Announcements were OK for me, as were the capes! Sandwich grab bags suit me far more than a full meal at lunch; I also noted the shrinking Sunday bag (Sat had a sandwich, water, fruit & flapjack type thing. Sunday was missing fruit & water).

I was also a latecomer to Sat evening meal - veg curry and rice was OK, but it would have been nice to have had the non-veg option and accompniaments.

These however are very minor niggles; it certainly wasn't perfect at Warhammer World and I experience catering issues regularly at work events! The main thing is that the important stuff (getting folks to play 6 games to time in a cracking atmosphere) went perfectly!

There were veg and meat options for the Saturday meal at least when I was there, although I was served maybe #5
And the Sunday sandwich bags did have fruit in, yours must have been pinched!

I really like the announcements and capes.

I thought the event was ace.
The game is meant to be light hearted (ducks) and the announcements give that
I thought the event went slickly and that's a sign of hard work and commitment from the NAF crew.
Looking online for positions was also great.

The packed lunches were OK.
The dinner was OK.
The hotel was great, apart from the fact I booked my friend and I at the same time as my booking, but we ended up in separate hotels. Which I think was the hotel pulling a fast one to fill up two hotels.

Great weekend, lobbying more Chelmsford Bunker people to go next year.

The capes are cool, no argument there. I experienced their majesty last year when I won most TD's! I was in no way saying they should be scrapped.

And for the record I did ask for the volume to be turned down a notch or two at one point.

But eh, if it didn't bother anyone else what more is there to say.
