What was that game called?
Formula De. Even if we didn't win, we were definitely the hottest team. ;)

Just wanted to add my thanks to the organisers and my opponents. Was a cracking weekend with some great games against some classy guys and teams - everyone I met was genuinely brilliant. Never again will I utter the words "Amazons won't be a problem"! Was really impressed with the organisation, and looking forward to coming back next year.

Double thanks as well to buggrit for lending me some skill rings!

Fast becoming one of my favourite UK events.

Great to see so many of us there, especially from outside the UK, and especially good to share some beers with friends.

Top notch organisation, superb venue, great giveaways and prizes and an amazing atmosphere among the players.

Very, very well done organisers. See you next year!

I’d like to pass on my endless thanks to everybody involved in the running and organising of this event. It was an absolutely phenomenal weekend and I literally loved every single minute of it. The NAF Championship truly deserves its status as Blood Bowl’s flagship event.

In terms of the tournament itself, each of the five games in the run up to the final were real nail-biters. Each of them came down to the wire and could have gone either way. There were several occasions when I thought I was done for but the dice came up trumps and saved the day. Full credit to my opponents for not only providing great games but also making them a pleasure to play.

When the draw for round six came up I had no idea I was in the final. I hadn’t had any sleep due to an evening jiving the night away in Rock City before spending three hours at the blackjack table. I’d hit the point where I couldn’t remember my own name and Jim had to almost drag to me to the podium after finding me out cold on the grass outside, dreaming horrible dreams filled with mummy two-dice blocks and cage optimisation.

The final game against Bouzzy was, sadly, a bit of a none-entity in that the dice were heavily one-sided in my favour. Bouzzy’s players started to leave the pitch at an alarming rate, which is a shame as I feel that the final of the NAFC should be a demonstration of the two highest ranked players in the tournament pitting their wits against one another to find out who really is worthy of becoming king (I use the term ‘highest ranked’ rather than ‘best’ as I had no ruddy idea what I was doing up there ;)). Bouzzy took the dicing with good grace though so he must be commended for that. He conducted himself with the dignity expected of a finalist and was a lovely opponent. Thanks too to Paul for arbitrating and sitting through it with us.

I hope everybody enjoyed themselves and roll on next year!

This was meant to be the moment of destiny, the weekend where an impossible dream came true. This was the time of the goblins.
With full orange war paint, the little fellas swarmed out onto the pitch and did Coach Itchen proud.

For a bit.

Sweeping aside another team of Goblins and then fighting to a close victory over some wood elves, Coach Itchen could feel it,
the line was in sight, his Ians (for we all know every good goblin is named Ian) would soon be legend.

As match 2 ended the Goblins were NAF ranked 198.89, just shy of the mythical 200 and this is when nuffle stirred. Smiling warmly
at Coach Itchen, nuffle opened her arms and beckoned him in for a loving embrace. Entranced by those beautiful eyes and the comfort
they promised, Itchen went to nuffle willingly, giving himself to her, knowing everything was going to be ok.

When the first delicately shaped boot made sharp contact with his testicles, Itchen was caught by surprise, by the time the 18th landed,
he was curled up in a ball on the floor pleading to be kicked in the face instead.

Out on the pitch the goblins tried to carry on, but they were simply evapourating under the pressure. The blessed end came in style.
8 players on the pitch, all 8 stunned by a pitch invasion and the ball bounched off one of their unfortunate bodies for a touchback.

Had Coach Itchen been able to do more than clutch at his groin and whimper, he would have found this funny, but instead nuffle stood
over him for one last stilletoed pirouette and she shrieked in delight as the very last chance of there ever being an Itchen Junior left
this world.

Thanks to the organisers and all my opponents for the weekend and Gratz to all the winners. Nazgob that cape really suited you :-)
Sorry if i seemed glum toward the end, but think i managed to put a brave face on it. Expect nufflings every so often, but 3 in 4
matches was a bit rich even for my easy going nature! Honestly had i been playing as an 11 man dwarf roster think I would have been
pitch cleared at least once with the armour/injury dice my opponents were getting :-)

Well anyway I'm claiming i was #1 Goblin for at least 3 hours lol, and very very nearly got to 200, but now I'm left a broken man down
from a starting 189 to 165 ranking points. Might have to play a proper team for a bit until i get my mojo back!

Was next to Itchen when that pitch invasion happened, did lead to the question -- what happens to the ball...

You give it to a player who, being stunned, immediately drops it and you roll for scatter and carry on.

I should have tried giving the ball to a player on the LOS, scatter for another touchback. Repeat endlessly until the match is abandonned! :P
