And that makes 154 paid entries, beating last year out with some more still to come! Excellent news. :D

Phrase or not, this makes it the largest single system tourney in the UK over the past 12 months by quite a margin.

The indy 40k GT attracts about 90-100 (and the organisers were quite perturbed to learn the size of the NAF Champs tonight).
WM&H Masters is capped at 132, and the WM&H ETC reached its largest a few years ago at 164 (2011?), since then it has dropped to less than 100.
WFB indy GT's have hovered at around 80 for a few years now, the South Coast GT being the largest at 120.
GW's in house tourneys for core games cap out at 120.
The only single event I know of today that beats the NAF Champs is the indy 40k/WFB ETC, which attracts 200+ over the two systems, so still doesn't seem to compete on a single system basis.

I should add that 20 or so years ago DBA Ancients at Britcon attracted 400+ players and was split into two competitions (BC and AD) as a result. But those days of mass ancients gaming are gone.

I heard recently that some players believe that BB is the most played tourney game. I don't believe this to be true personally based on the volume of tourneys compared with average attendance (40k averages out at 30, BB at 20), but the above bodes well.
I'll be trying to gather more solid figures over the next year though, because it is certainly of interest.

So, yes, blather aside; single biggest event of the past 12 months.

Tell your friends and family, this ain't a dead system.
