Re: NAF Championship LII - 25th & 26th May 2013 - Nottingham
We must unfortunately announce a change of dates for the forthcoming NAF Championship in 2013. It will now take place on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th May 2013.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused. The matter was completely out of our hands, however we have renegotiated for alternate dates and the new dates are immovable.
On the positive side we have negotiated the hotel discount we were to receive and as a goodwill gesture the venue have reduced the special rate for you to £35 for a single room or £45 for a double or twin. This is for 1-3 nights, including breakfast, next to the venue in a four star De Vere hotel. It is our hope that most people stay and make this an unforgettable weekend.
So without further ado we can announce that we will accept payment for the event starting from Saturday 1st December 2012 at 9am UK time. Payment of £50.00 should be sent via PayPal to the account thenafchampionship@gmail.com.
If you wish to take advantage of the rates we have negotiated with the venue's hotel you will need to book rooms with them directly. Please speak to them regarding any special requirements you may have, e.g. wheelchair access, double beds. Please remember that the discounted rate is only available up to 3 months before the event. To be eligible for the discounted rates you will need a code. We will release this code to anyone who purchases a ticket.
The first 100 people to pay will be entered into an 'Early Bird Prize Draw'. One lucky entrant will be chosen at random to receive a bundle of Blood Bowl goodies (full details to follow very shortly).

Oooof. That's not good! My inlaws have booked Center Parcs for that week. Now I just need to hope that we are going on Monday 27th and that Liz doesn't mind me playing bloodbowl that weekend!!! It would be my 7th in a row! Can't miss it!

Gotta feeling I'm going to miss it now - I'd had to change weekends so now I have to hope I can change again.
I'm sure there's a good reason for it, but it blows.

It's okay. We are going on the Monday morning, which means I can attend the NAFC 2013. Phew!
Sadly, Liz isn;t prepared to take the kids away for a weekend, then straight away somewhere else for a week's holiday. Understandable.
Thus, Hotel PeteW will not be opening its doors this year. I might be able to squeeze one or two people in who can't afford the hotel and don't mind an early night (and early morning!!!)

Confirmed. Unless I get a Mon-Fri job between now and then (which is unlikely, as I'm not looking) I definitely won't make it, either as a player or to help. Already swapped my weekend once, and can't swap it again (and I've had to swap one for Exiles as well).
Oh well, maybe 2014.

Erk! Just realised that the new date is my dad's 70th, and I'm meant to organizing a family get together - now I'm going to really have to beg for more time off (which still means I wouldn't have made it).
Is late-May likely to be the regular date now,.or is the intention to go back to early May for 2014+?

Count me in and as an early request is it possible to let me have the hotels number/link so I can check out accessability with them and possibly reserve an accessable room?
As a suggestion, I believe some feel, as do I, that splitting off the top two players after round five to battle for first place could be re-examined.
Are there any ongoing discussions about this NAF tradition?

I'm personally not a fan of finals. But if there is going to be a final at any event in the calendar, it should be this one. It is/was the actual Blood Bowl. That had a final, so does this.canteloup wrote:As a suggestion, I believe some feel, as do I, that splitting off the top two players after round five to battle for first place could be re-examined.

Are we being sponsered by 'the weeks of the year'...

It's been run every year since the first in 2461, except in 2489 when the league was disbanded, hence the 52nd Grand tournament. Or NAF championship, I meant.
