I like my WPS charity dice.

They're a bit rounded on the corners though. I like the idea of getting a set of casino dice in. I've already spent enough on my clay checks.

Can't believe they let people use their own dice, I just assumed they'd provided 'default' dice for everyone for the 2 days. It's like the old 'jumpers for goalposts' routine there's always some cheating sod who decides to make their goal smaller, and by the end of it's just a pile of jumpers. I know there's skill involved, but it is essentially a game of luck so doesn't seem right to let people influence their 'luck', and I know it's not exactly exactly professional sport or a world championships, but can you imagine takig your 'lucky dice' to the casino?!
...maybe the enlgand cricket team should try using 'lucky bats' twice standard size....

In the Spiky finals, Marcus and I shared my D6. Obviously, we bought our 'black' blocking dice there before the tourny.

So I could live with dice sharing again and if someone feels better using my ones I don't have any problems therewith.

And if I think my opponents dice are the 'better' ones I would probably politely ask for using them, too. I don't think any fair player would deny this. Anything else could surely be misinterpreted...

The thing is you should be allowed to use your opponents dice if you want. It is a concern if GW have stated previously that you cannot use your opponents dice.

Just for interest, at probably the largest series of wargaming competitions in this country (the BHGS ancients ones, generally getting 80+ players at them) you are meant to share one set of dice with your opponent, with the player who is the attacker in each game providing the dice. It could be worth getting GW to implement the same rule if either player insists on it.

There definitely should be such rulings. The incident that cidervampire portrayed is something that should never happen (and should've never happened). Hopefully Andy H. is reading this topic...

Other player supplies the dice would be a good option, perhaps. By using the same set of dice the possible bias in the dice would be the same for both teams concerned.

Hmmm...if I play somebody non-NAF he sure as hell ain't his grubby mitts on my black Block dice.
I suppose loaded D6 can be bought (and much easier to use if there's no standardisation), whereas Block dice would need to be tampered with.

I concur. I have rarely come across anythign suspicious. If someone wishes to use my dice I would let them. In fact in the last tournament I borrowed two dice off the organiser and they rolled brilliantly for me. Whenever anyone else used them .. disaster !

Does anybody trust anybody else, is the tournament going to be taken this seriously. Do you expect people to try to cheat?

Am I alone in wanting to go to the BB to meet fellow players and have a good weekend. Oh yeah, and play a bit of Bloodbowl. Perhaps I am just too easy going...

I don't need to cheat to win games ;]

Be prepared to meet a sizable minority of utter prats though. It's games workshop, it attracts them like flies to honey.

I guess I am classed as a "more mature" player (greying hair, expanding waistline, worries about the pension crisis etc) so I was wondering if these tournaments attract large numbers of kids? I assume these would have to be local kids or at least have understanding parents who don't mind hand holding...

I hope there won't be loads of kids, but this is blood bowl so it has a different player base. The limited exposure means that most the kids get targetted by the stores towards the big 3 games. I am sure there will be some younger players about, but expect not many.

Well, I'm expecting two or three people who aren't actually kids but will act like them. Got a couple in mind from past tournaments....

And no, "flies on honey" isn't the australian version, but this is a "family" board.
