I like the advantage of the flexibility of having 2 throwers. GR catch on 2+, and Skaven thow just as well as humans.

If you lose your single skaven thrower it limits your 'safe' play options. Besides, having two throwers picking up the ball in the back field allows the GR to be where they're needed - within scoring range of your opponents end zone.

Hum, got the same problem than you... Got some problems with making the lizardmen roster team ... PLease don't forget those skinks are stunty...

1/ Silibili 7 4 2 9 Block Stand Firm Guard or a Kroxigor 6 5 1 9 Mighty Blow Prehensive Tail Thick Skull ...
2/ 4 saurus ? 7 Skinks ...

BTW, have you ever notcied how better making your roster would be if you should have a 10k or 20k bonus... ? Sounds like Murphy Law, or something like that... ;)

3/ Maybe no starplayers or big guy... but 6 saurus !

6 Saurus, 6 skinks 2 RR 4 FF (my most preferate option)
1 Krox AND 4 saurus 7 skinks 2 RR 1 FF OR 6 saurus 5 skinks 1 RR 3 FF
Silibili 6 Saurus 5 Skinks 1 RR 2 FF

I strongly dislike the fact to have 1 RR Only with Lizardmen...

Hum, the other option should be playing orcs ... ;)

Varag 3 BoB 3 Blitzers 1 Thrower 4 Linemen 1 RR 4 FF OR
Varag 3 or 4 Bob 3 or 4 Blitzers (choices are 3 BoB 4 Blitzers or 4 BoB 3 Blitzers) 1 thrower 3 linemen 1 RR 1 FF

Still the problem of Fan Factor, and specifically the question of the best option between a 4th BoB or a Blitzer...

About the Fan Factor, what do you think about? Personnally, I like having an average (4/6) FF when starting a league, but what are your opinions especially those ones who played Resurrection Tournament or Spiky Tournament last year?

I've posted on this back on page 1 of this thread. I'm happy to chance going low.

I'm thinking of taking orcs as well - seemingly a dull choice, but I haven't got any chance of practice between now and then so have to go with what I (vaguely) know. Your line-up with one re-roll seems pretty bold. I love Orcs, but bless them they're just not the most talented of individuals when it comes to 'complicated' stuff like picking up the ball. But I may be wrong. Would be happy to hear any further ideas on tournament orc set-ups, most the reference material available seems to be focused on league teams.

Also if anyone would like a PBEM game to try out some tournament ideas/roster, please let me know. I'm going to be in Poland again as of monday, so have no other means of getting games.
Cheers.

DFC: Why do you take 12 players? If you protect skinks you won't have problems... if I take lizards I'll choose:

1 krox
6 saurus
4 skinks
2 RR
3 FF

You don't have to worry about skinks, they won't die...

It's a fact as I said that lizzies don't have a pass game option. This should be boring but not for me ?

Anca: I'd rather have more than 4 skinks... Give you more running options, IMHO.

Just had a reply from Andy Hall today re the Tournament rules. He said you can have as many star players in a team as you can afford.

I did:

Q. Is Thrud allowed ? His rules state he is only ever Freebooted.
Your rules on Star Players say Star Players are not freebooted for this tournament. If he can be used, at what cost and is that for one game only
or for all games ?

A. Thrud is allowed as he is now official. Simply pay the 50,000 gp. Although, why you would want to is beyond me!
