Looking for a lift

I will be flying over to Britain on the friday, and leaving the monday, though I plan on leaving Nottingham sunday evening (as most will I'd imagine).

Is there some kind soul who can give me a spot in a car travelling from somewhere easily reachable from Heathrow on the friday afternoon and dropping me off near a tube station (or, even better, at my Mum's) on the sunday evening?

As near Amersham as possible.
Depending on time of day (without checking times) I can get a tube if it's easier to drop me somewhere else (possibly Rickmansworth, seeing as that's just off the M25).
For travel up I'll get as early a flight as I can if necessary and tube it from Heathrow to wherever is a good pick up spot.
Just me and a small backpack.

*Bump*
I can get trains if need be, but would be useful to get a lift back down to the London area if possible.

Driesfield and Xod are getting me home again thanks Woody (assuming the timetable doesn't go tits up that is). Well, as far as Chorleywood anyway. My Sister will pick me up there.
