No, i can't see an error there either.

You have to have a minimum of 11 players and if you only have 11 players none of them can be star players.

It doesn't say at least 11 or a minimum of 11.
It just says you must have 11 players (in addition to any stars).

So (Rules Lawyer on) no more than 11 rostered players.

There is already a question on the SG forum about it.

But it says stars not counting towards this total which is correct

Yep. But it will effect:

Gobbos (with Rostered SW anyway)
Ogre
Skaven etc (anyone who'd consider taking 12 at TV100)

But I'm sure the NAF refs will be sensible.

I think that is being a little picky to be honest, I am surprised anyone would have read that as you can only have 11

Oh, I agree.

But rules packs should be crystal clear.

Especially where there are going to be coaches whose first language is not English.

Does anyone have any idea what the GW concession is?

Yes, but a team that has 12 players has 11 players too. Sorry, but this doesn't really set the number of players at exactly 11 either (whether you're a rules lawyering asshat or not); it is at worst ambiguous on whether you can have more.

EDIT

Having finally gotten around to reading the whole thing I'd say you'd have to have only read part of the rules pack to get it wrong. It's spelt out pretty clearly later on in the same column on the page.
STAR PLAYERS
You may buy up to two Star Players if you wish for your team. However, your
team must have a minimum of 11 players not counting the Star Players. You may
only use the official Star Players from the list in the Living Rulebook.

I would not say if I did or do! Not being funny but - we went to the Dutch Open two weeks ago, did we know the give aways? No. Last two years Dungeonbowl did we know anything...no. This year's BD is less than a month away...do we know... no. Do you know what the new NAF dice will be...no. Do I...yes.

So in truth....like most other tournaments you wont know until you are there. That is hardly a surprise really. It's like most tournaments.

Regardless of langauge, there is rarely the perfect rules pack. Heck I found a perfectly good question not covered for a tourney I shall be attending soon. I can think of 3 or 4 from last year. There is no such thing as perfect rules Dave. But your comments are noted and will be passed on.

Yellow card offences include:
- Use of non-standard dice, measures or other gaming tools; includes the use of non-UK edition of the rules
This one part raises a few questions:
- Don't you think it's a bit harsh to penalise a foreign coach with a yellow card just for checking what a skill does in their own language? :o I thought the attempt was to ENCOURAGE foreign coaches to come, not drive them away
- What constitutes "non-standard" dice? Are only GW's white D6 allowed?
- Will I get yellow carded for checking the passing range on a crib sheet rather than using the lose-o-meter?
- Does Valen count as a tool, gaming or otherwise?  (not that I'd want to use him anyway  )

...but to be fair the same question wasn't covered in the GW rules pack either......
