I don't know if it is just me (and yes this is a bit off topic!) but I really don't like the recent style of Blood Bowl artwork. This poster and the covers of the Blood Bowl and Dead Ball novels are prime examples. They are more like typical (bad) fantasy paintings and have no feeling of a sports game about them - particularly in the outfits and armour worn by the players.

Oh, and on another off topic post....

does anyone know where I can get fairly high res pictures of Blood Bowl artwork? I am puting together a magazine for my league and need art work to go on the cover. I know of the Old School Picture archive and already have most of whats in there - or can scan in what I need at a higher res anyway - but what I want is more recent artwork.

I agree, the artwork sucks ... looks like a badly converted Manowar album cover. And it's way too Human ... at least on race pictured should be non-human i guess.

My first impression as well. Why is that guy on the left trying to slam his teammate to the ground and what's that guy trying to do with his arms anyway? And where's the stadium/pitch/fans? Hey, wait, the trophy actually appears to contain something ball-like behind the letters.

All in all a horrible poster, not just the art work but in the layout of the text and image positioning!

I can't believe that was approved.

a lot of the fantasy artwork around is bad .. from a 'try to picture a human being in realistic proportions' point of vieuw .. most fantasy artists never even got close to an anatomy lesson ..

BTW, anybody know how a copy of the poster can be obtained? Short of going to the tournament?

Not sure you can get one if you do attend. Might be worth asking your local GW store (if you're in the UK), or emailing the UK Events team (email address on the GWUK website).

Of course, the question has to be asked "why would you want one?" :P;)

I think that it is the cover to the third Blood Bowl novel being recycled as GW is wont to do... From Amazon

Must be part of the new cost-cutting policy, badly rehashed artwork
