Dirty Player, Guard, Strip Ball or Tackle.

I don't bother skilling the linewomen apart from the DP - just make the blitzers rock :D

Make the amazons bashy. Its fun and worth a shot. Make them all blodgeing, maniacs that never go down. Then throw in some Diving Tackle, Shadowing (it doesn matter who they all equal movement) If you want to avoid block, make everyone a tackler as first skill. It will cripple any elven team.

IMO unless you intend skilling up the throwers or catchers swap them for linewomen and take another TRR. The number of times you actually use pass/catch in it isn't worth half a team reroll IMO. That leaves another 20k which I'd probably put on FF - just for the kick off table.

At TR 100, I take the same roster than you except that I drop the apo to take a 4th RR. You can have 4 RR whereas other teams only have 3 RR max, so use this advantage (and they are really needed to RR those damned GFI rolls...).

I'd go like this: Dirty Player, Tackle on a blitzer (or Strip Ball), Sure Hands for the thrower (to save your RR for something more important), Guard, Guard.

I agree with Ian that Amazons don't really rely on a passing game, so the thrower is not needed (actually a blitzer with Sure Hands makes a far better ball carrier).
I personnaly take a thrower because I prefer keeping the possibility to make a pass and saving my RR if I'm in trouble (and only quick passes... attempt short passes when you can't do anything safer !)

I always take 2 catchers. Their Catch skill is always useful when you want to hand-off the ball for the TD or change the wing of your attack against slow teams. And furthermore, if you want to play "different", you can give them Diving Tackle !

I'm fairly new to Amazons, but I like them cause they can play both bashy and passy. But how much should one go for a bashy Amazons?
They have no str4 or above player and I have problems penetrating a proper bashy team. What to do about that? Dauntless and guard?
For defence I would probably avoid contact a lot, with ag3+dodge it's a 8/9 to succeed getting out of TZ.

What I like about the catchers, beside Catch skill is their agility access. A bit of Sure Feet and they can get the movement Amazons lack so dearly and start play a bit more like elves. You can also get other fun stuff like Sidestep and Diving Catch...
If I want to penetrate a defence of a lot of str4 players, I prefer using the TRR on the blocks so I feel I need to have SF for the catchers to go deeper then their Blitzer shields.

And if I want to make a pass there's lots of rolls to be made. Pick up the ball, pass, and catch roll... I can't use a TRR on all three and especially if I needed to reroll a block in the same round. So the Pass ain't half bad to have either. (Besides I use nuns as Amazon models so I want a Hail Mary on at least one player just for fluff )

What I want to get to is, are linewomen really good enough to replace the Throwers/Catchers with as you say? With only General access and all?
What kind of play do you all prefer? Passing, running or just plain bashing?

Take one thrower and giver her sure hands, maybe.

Possibly give a player kick, so you can press on defence.
