Don't knock the essay - it could be the only points I get that weekend...

Got mini yesterday, but my number is 33, kinda strange as I ordered mine at around GMT 9:30 and they had been selling quickly before I called. I guess they didn't number the tickets in order they were bought.

Background text is standard for 40K and WHFB tournies. I have a few different bits of garbage written which I edit slightly and truck out again and again. Annoyingly I have no BB style stuff, so I may have to do a new bit!

An example of my 40K background shi.te:

Han's Von Darkstar was confident. Not the confidence of a fool, the self-delusion of a man ill-equipped for the destiny ahead of himself. No, this was the supreme confidence of a leader fully aware of his abilities and what it will take for victory. In the blinking of the dawn light, he surveyed his troops.

The solid centre of his lines, the Chaos Space Marines. Han's knew that he could depend on them to hold the line and to stand until the last. A third unit in a Chaos Rhino serves as his Personal Guard.

Veteran Havocs held their weapons almost lovingly. Having fought for 10,000 years against the False Emperor, and toting heavy weapons to crack open the heaviest targets they knew their foes well.

The Obliterators stood ready. A hideous mix of man, machine and daemon they were ready to destroy any enemy that stood in their way.

Screaming rent the air, heralding the arrival of the Raptors, landing with deceptive calm near Han's position. A combat squad without equal, able to pounce upon its prey and rend it limb from limb before taking to the skies once more.

And finally Han's eye draws over the big guns. A Chaos Basilisk and Chaos Predator, capable of sustained fire into the enemy positions. The sleek lines of the gun barrels and the heavy armour reminded Han's of the real meaning of the words ' Iron Warrior '.

"Steel and Fire !" Han's cries to his assembled army. "Kill them all !"

How do they think they are going to read 200 essays and mark 200 quiz entries. And how the muck are they gonna do it under exam conditions. If you talk are they gonna make you stand in the corner. Hey when it's really quiet we should all try to let out really loud farts :D . Why is farting sooooooooo funny? :-?

It looks like they want us to grade one another on the essay part at least as on the back of each match ticket is the grading criteria for your opponent of that round's team. One of the criteria is Team Character and 6 out of the 20 points is for the essay.

(as for exam conditions, I don't think that I ever drank beer when taking an exam before but I intend to try with this one... :D )

Do you think that the tournament folks would like it if we did the 'we don't need no stinking badges' routine at registration? :)

Look at it this way, if enough of us take to 'dramatic readings' at great volume of the team histories, then they might not make us do this next year... just a thought and if enough beer happens then it might be considered a good thought. :D

Cheers
