Everyone above here added Thads

Ryan - expect a team choices thread to open pretty soon :)

Of those though I'd suggest taking flings for fun or Humans if you want to be competitive.

From last years BB tournament and the year before i found Chaos Dwarf's to be an awsome team for kicking ass. I also found that Norse are good as well. Ok you have a low AV, but the fact that you get an entire team that starts with the skill block.....what can you say? An average lineman 6337 with block for only 50K, a thrower/catcher with pass/catch + block for 70K, and a blitzer with block + Frenzy + Jump up for 90K. Not a bad line up IMO.

The rules look like they'll favour a team that can score 3+ per game, as the points difference for win margin is quite large. So any dwarves may need some performance enhancing drugs...

Sod it. I have no chance at winning overall, so I'm playing Dwarfs as per.

Hell...Dwarfs CAN beat Wood Elves. Dwarfs CAN score 3 TDs in a single game. Its unlikely but worth a shot.

Primary reason for going is to have some fun with my mates from TBB anyway.

Remember, if you only score 3, you also have to make sure they don't score on you.

I've seen very few orcish or dwarven 3-0 or 4-1 victories, however, i've seen several 3-0 or 4-1 or 5-2 results when Skaven or Woodelfs are involved.

I said it was unlikely didn't I?
2-0 is as good as 4-2. Its as good as any system I can think of.

I don't care. I freely acknowledge my limitations, and playing any other team at the BB would just feel wrong. I have 2nd ed elf and skaven teams painted, and may well bring the elves along, so I could play them if I wanted, but I don't know how to play them well.

Agreed the whole purpose of the event is to have fun, and the scoring system isn't going to be as much of an issue as the absurd sundry points system whereby your ability to paint a cheerleader is worth more than your ability to coach.
I ditched orcs last year after getting in an almighty rut of draws, so it'll be skaven or maybe the new pro-elves for a change. At least with skaven I can score quite regularly - now I just have to work on stopping the opponent also scoring regularly...

Well, the points system has narrowed my choice down to Skaven or Orcs. Both teams were painted by my mate, and are good, a lot better than I can manage. I'd prefer to take the Orcs, but don't know if he'll let me borrow them (wonder if he'd paint a troll before then? ).

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

Why not try Chaos Dwarfs? They are the same basic team (sort of) with the added bonus of bull centaurs!

As for having fun with your mates.....im not going to be there
