OBBLM - Move completed tournament between divisions?

However you play online - Java, Vassal, Email, Cyanide etc - talk about it here.
This is also the place for discussing the various tools for managing leagues, teams and so on.

OBBLM - Move completed tournament between divisions?

Post by Fejwe »

Hi everyone,

I'm a relative noob with OBBLM--I've been using it for our league for 8 seasons (http://www.motorcitybloodbowl.org) but I've done very little customizing or otherwise messing with it.

I've got a quick question I'm hoping someone can answer. (Sorry if this has been asked and answered 2000 times, I tried the search but had limited success). I accidentally created one of our old tournaments in the wrong division years ago, and now every time I look at the list it annoys me. I'm wondering if I can move that tournament over to the right division. I think from what I've read that there may be issues with the teams that played in it, but we only use teams in a single tournament. so every team that's in that tournament has only played within it.

Anyway, hoping there's some way to adjust but not a big deal. Thanks in advance
Tom

Do you know SQL? This can be done by modifying the database directly. Unfortunately, it seems to involve as many as 8 tables that need to be changed. There is the risk of unforeseen side effects, by doing this manually. So you must also be able to make a backup of the database.

Let me know if you want to go further.

I don't know SQL at all, unfortunately, though I'm usually good at picking stuff up. In any case, changing 8 databases seems very high-risk for something that annoys me but does no harm, so I think I'll leave it as is.

That said I appreciate the offer and will let you know if I look further into making updates.

Thanks!
