OLBBM - complete newb

Ok, so I'm starting to use the OLBBM via the NAF, but I don't think I'm fully understanding the league/division/tournament/conference structure.

My league has an over-arching league structure called the Adeleague. Within that I have two main competitions: the Adelaide Open and the Black Flag. The Open is in its second season and each league will have ongoing seasons. At this point I am just trying to set up the Adelaide Open Season 2.

So, the [league] on OLBBM would be the overall league itself. The [division] becomes the Adelaide Open, and the [tournament] Season 2??

How do I populate coaches in to the season structure (I have worked out how to add coaches, but they don't appear in any of the menus and can't make teams yet)?

What are [conferences] in the OLBBM structure, and should I be creating one, even if I only use one conference?

Finally, I can create a team and can see and use the admin tools. But can I add injuries to players to begin with (I have some NIs and MNGs)?

Sorry, I'm sure some of this stuff is pretty obvious once it is explained, but I've looked at the wiki and some of the other documents and I can't seem to find answers.

Thanks

Hi mate, some answers below. Also some useful links: to check out http://nzcbbl.obblm.com as a good example of a mature install with all containers in use. Try the league > league tables link in particular to see conferences in play.

Also note that with the release of the patch for deathzone 2 I've created an OBBLM helpdesk to collate requests. Please consider using that group to log
further requests :) http://theendzone.co/groups2/89-obblm

Teams are logged in divisions - if division ties are set to 'on', which I don't recommend! - and tournaments once their games are scheduled in a tournament and a result is logged. Your coaches can create their own teams or you can create for them. Go to search, find a coach or team, then select 'new team' from the coach profile}

What are [conferences] in the OLBBM structure, and should I be creating one, even if I only use one conference? {they're discrete tables that work like north American sports conferences. You only need to use it if you're using conferences in this way}

Finally, I can create a team and can see and use the admin tools. But can I add injuries to players to begin with (I have some NIs and MNGs)? {Not currently. But you can add them in the ageing boxes of their first game?}

Appreciate the info, I had similar questions.

I am also in the exact same boat but we just started to implement OBBLM a couple weeks in. It's easy enough for everyone to go back and add match reports with such a small league. I also made everyone an admin temporarily to set their SPP to the right values.

Is there really a system for tracking seasons though? Or do you still need to track seasons played and any wants to return info on seperate paper?

Also, we will have a season that culminates in a two round final with a relegation final. I currently have the tourney for our whole season set to free for all. There seem to be lots of options for rounds etc. We are having a mid season break though to have a short mini tourney. The mini tourney is in the 7s format so new teams are technically selected from our existing teams. Is there any way to create a concurrent tournament? Or should every player just update and adjust their SPP? I would like to do something so we can log our TD's and casualties but I dont know if its possible to do considering it would have the same player in both the regular season team and the 7s team.

Thanks Shteve0 (and apologies for a tardy response). I really appreciate it. Sounds like I'm on the right track. I'll keep working on it.

Shteve0, my coaches don't see anything in the League/Division drop down box when they go to make a team, and they get an error message related to not having a league or division selected. Any idea what might be going wrong?
