Greetings!

If you are in the East Midlands, we have a tournament based in Ripley which will be my first ever tournament that I've ever ran, but also it will be the stores first Blood Bowl tournament as well, so we would really appreciate some support to get this off the ground. (Currently 12 spaces are filled out of 20).

The all important rule pack!

*Format*

This is a resurrection Blood Bowl event where any injuries in each game will be ignored for the start of the following match. Other than their starting skills & your allotted skills (see below) players do not gain skills between rounds.

The tournament will be played over 3 matches. The first round will be randomly drawn and rounds 2 & 3 will be swiss format. (so winners play winners, losers play losers and so forth). You will have 2 Hours & 30 minutes to play each match which should be plenty of time.

Special rules: As this is a Winter Bowl, we will be using the “Winter Weather Table” which can be found on page 78 of the Death Zone Rules.
Everyone will also receive their very own bingo card for the event with a range of tasks to complete. There is a spot prize for the first person to fill a line, the first person to fill two lines & the first person to get a full house.

Before the event starts, everyone can remove a single bingo entry that the team you have chosen might struggle with.

*Schedule*

The schedule will be as follows:
Registration: 9:30am – 10am
Round 1: 10am – 12:30pm
Lunch: 12:30pm – 13:00pm
Round 2: 13:00 – 15:30pm
Break: 15:30pm – 15:45pm
Round 3: 15:45pm – 18:15pm
Awards: 18:15pm – 18:30pm

*What do I need to bring?*

Your team
Your block dice, D6’s, a D8 & a d16
2x Printed rosters (including your Naf tag/number)
A pitch
tokens/templates
Most importantly, yourself!

*Scoring*

Win = 30 points
draw = 10 points
loss = 0 points
1 point – per touchdown scored up to a maximum of 3
1 point – per casualty inflicted up to a maximum of 3
1 point – Keeping a clean sheet by conceding 0 touchdowns

If at the end of the event there is a tie then the following tie breakers will be considered to determine final rankings:

Strength of Schedule
Touchdown & Casualty difference
Lowest tier wins

*Team Building*

Coaches have 1.15M to create their teams. All 29 NAF approved teams can be used. Coaches must hire 11 players first before hiring backroom staff, rerolls or other inducements.

All of the inducements from the BB2020 rule book and Deathzone are ok to use except for mercenaries. We will be using the GW suggested tiers for teams.

Tier 1 & 2 teams may hire up to 1 star player and tier 3 teams may hire up to 2 star players. If you and your opponent have hired the same stars, both teams can use them as per normal.

*Skills*

Teams may add the following skills to their roster for free:

Tier 1 – 4 primary skills
Tier 2 – 5 primary skills and 1 secondary skill
Tier 3 – 5 primary skills and 2 secondary skills

Secondary skills may be swapped for primary skills if you prefer this.
Tier 3 teams may stack up to 2 skills on the same player.

*Cost*

To participate in the tournament, the ticket cost is £10 for NAF members. These can be purchased via my PayPal which is davidhutchings1981@gmail.com

*What is the NAF?*

The NAF is an international association of players dedicated to the beautiful sport which is Blood Bowl. The NAF acts as a central resource for Blood Bowl coaches the world over which includes offering news, contacts, discussion, sanctioned tournaments and international player rankings to name just a few examples.

*Location*

The tournament is being held at Jack in a box. The address is: 1 Barclay Building, High St, Ripley DE5 3AE
Please note: There is no on site parking for the store, however there is plenty of car parks nearby within a very short distance.

*Prizes*

There will be shiny prizes for the following:

Winner
Runner up
3rd place
Most Casualties
Most Touchdowns
Stunty cup (which is the highest placed stunty team)
& of course the ever famous wooden spoon

There will also be spot prizes given out via the bingo card which is highlighted in the “format” portion of the rulepack.
What the prizes are will be announced on the Facebook event page and/or on the day.

*Summary*

This will be the first blood bowl tournament that myself or jack in a box has hosted so we would appreciate any feedback that you have.
We are planning on hosting seasonal blood bowl events at the store moving forwards and this will generally land on the first Sunday of February, May, August & November unless otherwise stated.

Just out of curiosity, 'cos you are too far away for me, but what about people that don't use fb?
