RULES

Welcome to the Red Trophy! We will be using the Blood Bowl Second Season Edition (or Blood Bowl 2020 as it is commonly known) rules, along with the “Teams of Legend” PDF and the designers' Errata which can be found over on the official Blood Bowl website, as well as the inclusion of the Slann team, which may be found under the NAF's “Rules For Tournaments 2021” document. "Daemons of Khorne" will no longer be a permitted roster due to being superseded by the official GW Khorne team.

Team Building:
Teams competing at The Red Trophy are made of highly trained, world renowned and completely insane Blood Bowlers. As such, coaches are given a generous starting gold pieces allowance of 1,200,000 for the purposes of selecting players, re rolls, sideline staff and purchasing any inducements permitted. This is completely separate from the inclusion of additional skills, which will be covered below.

Inducements:
Star Players are not permitted except for the following teams, who may take ONE star player after a full 11 of regular team players have been rostered -

Goblins
Halflings
Snotlings
Ogres

The only other inducements permitted are Bloodweiser Kegs, Halfling Master Chefs, and Bribes, which are paid for out of the 1,200,000 gold pieces referenced above prior to the tournament. No inducements are able to be purchased at the table, so spend that gold!

Additional Skills:

Once you have fully purchased your team as described above, you may distribute additional skills amongst your players. A coach may select ONE of the following two skill packages:

8 Primary Skills OR
5 Primary Skills and 2 Secondary Skills

A maximum of two skills may be stacked onto the same player (including both Secondary skills if you wish). Aside from this, there are no other limitations such as limits on duplicate skills etc. Statistic increases are not an option, otherwise... they'd be listed above...

All teams must be painted with at least 3 colours and be comprised of appropriate fantasy miniatures which reflect the positionals they are intended to represent.

The Prayers to Nuffle Table:
Any reference to rolling on the “Prayers to Nuffle” Table must utilise the Exhibition variant of the table found on page 101 of the Blood Bowl rulebook.

What You Need
A painted team (minimum 3 colours)
Board and dugout
Dice
Templates
ONE printed roster

Scoring
2 Points for a win
1 Point for a draw
0 Points for a loss
Tie breaking system will be the following, and in this order:

Update:

We are very very close to finalising the agreement for our actual venue. Everything agreed, just needs to be signed. In the meantime get your names down for this new BB extravaganza!!

Update regarding venue -

We have cancelled plans to host our tournament elsewhere and will be utilising our first floor neighbours' space in order to expand our capacity!

This gives us an approximate capacity of 80 though we may investigate increasing this.

Update regarding the TR Trophy

The TR Trophy was intended to be a hugely upscaled event compared to the previous years' Red Trophy event. It was my intention to source a large venue, hit a capacity of over 100 players and introduce food both days and sponsors to make the weekend a proper big tournament experience.

After reflecting on the UK tournament road map and things being what they are I've come to the decision it was too big of a stretch to do in one hit with many other large events already on the scene, and as such I'm going to go for a more modest increase on the first go.

The tournament will be re-re-branded back to the Red Trophy, we'll still be increasing the usual capacity for Blood Bowl that we have here in store but from 36 players to 54 rather than 100+. Hot food prepared in-house will still be provided both days and we will be not only sponsoring prizes ourselves through the tournament but will still be sourcing 3rd party sponsors for increased prize support.

As such really the only differences to the experience I was originally aiming for is that the tournament will take place in our high street location and with less players. But still this is not the experience first advertised and I've also come to the decision to decrease the ticket cost from £45 to £35 to reflect the much lower overheads on our side.

Hope to see you all there!

Delighted to update that we'll be having prize sponsorship from Docminiature in the form of some of their wonderful accessories.
