Welcome to the Mountain High Cup, hosted by The Squadchaos Initiative and The North West Warriors BBL,
To be held at ‘The Den’ in the catacombs (cellar)
of the Carver Church Hall, Windermere
On Saturday 12th March 2022

With the UKTC being held just a few weeks after this event, this will be a great warm-up/roster tryout event for anyone attending the UKTC.
With this in mind we will be using the UKTC roster creation rules (see attached rules pack).

However, this is a standalone event and all coaches of all abilities are welcome.

Payment and contact details

Entry to the tournament, including lunch, costs £15 for NAF members and £20 for non-NAF (this price includes NAF membership).

When paying please

Ensure that you choose 'Friends and Family', otherwise your payment has a fee taken from it. Which means less money for our charities.
Ensure that you *do not choose* the payment protection, as your payment will have a fee taken from it
Ensure you put your Naf name and number in the message with your payment. Also include any dietary requirements and allergies. Plus your lunch selection and breakfast order (if ordering)

The Venue and getting there.

Where; The Den, Carver united reformed church, Lake road, Windermere
LA23 2BY.

Via car, Just 25 minutes from Junction 36 of the M6. There is free parking opposite the church or in the church yard accessed via Oldfield road.

Via Train, Just over 10 minutes walk from Windermere railway station.

Please note that access to The Den is via slate steps.

I’m sorry to say there is no disabled access to The Den.

Food and drinks

A selection of snacks and hot & cold drinks will be available to purchase during the day.
Lunch will be provided by The Coffee Bean Cafe and will be filled jacket potatoes.
Please choose from one of these fillings. There will be cheese to put on top.

What do I need to bring?

A Painted team. No unpainted teams please. Models must also be clearly recognisable as the positions that they represent.
Unpainted models will gain loner 6+
A copy of your team roster. Rosters must be clear to read (preferable digital to help save the planet...) and available for your opponent to view at any time.
Rosters will be checked by your 1st round opponent. Any rosters found to be illegal after this will be disqualified from winning any awards.
Block Dice, D6, D8, D16, Tokens
Rulebook (if you need it)
Pen and paper
NAF details (nickname and NAF ID number)

Tournament Format

The tournament will be played over 3 games and use the Swiss format, with the first round being a random draw.
To keep on schedule, we ask that you play at a brisk pace with as little time wasting as possible.
There will be announcements reminding you of time left in the round.
Please download a chess timer onto your phone in case you need it.
If you have an android phone then BB Coach Assistant is a great app to have with you.
Each table will have a results card. Once you’ve finished your game, you must fill in the card and hand it in at the information table.

Scoring

30 points for a win
15 points for a draw
Tie breaker, TD, Cas, TD + Cas, SoS, Dice off.

We will be sharing the wealth. So barring the Best Painted award and Stunty Cup only 1 award per coach.
