Titanbowl 3 - 31.7.22 - a giant NAF-ranked 1-day tournament Rotherham, UK

Post by Nodgefodgekins »

East, beyond the Empire, beyond Sylvania, beyond the Black Mountains, the Plain of Zharr and the Blasted Wastes, on the far side of the Mourn Mountains, there it is: Giant country.

Since the (re)addition of Slave Giants to the beautiful game, the Ancient Giant Lands have developed into a sporting hub. Any team wanting to prove its worth is setting off far beyond the end of the Silver Road in search of glory. A team such as yours. Any team brave, cunning or stupid enough to venture this far East in search of fame aims for one tournament above all others to prove their intestinal fortitude: The Titanbowl!

This tournament uses ‘Season 2’ (2020) rules. The format is a standard 3-game resurrection tournament (with one giant difference!) with the same team roster to be used in every match with no injuries, deaths, raised players or player progression carrying over between games.

Trophies are up for grabs for the Overall Winner, Most Casualties, Most Touchdowns, Giant Slayer Award, Darwin Award (most casualties suffered), Best Stunty team and Best Giant model**
**This must be painted by the participant him/herself, be fully painted and based and must be the model you are actually using in the tournament.

Note that, with the exception of painting awards, all prizes will be distributed so that no one wins more than one - we like as many prize winners as possible!

𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐑𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫
Coaches have 1.1 million gold crowns to spend on buying players, Assistant Coaches, Cheerleaders, Apothecaries, Bloodweiser Kegs, Dedicated Fans and Rerolls.

All teams from the ‘Season 2’ rulebook and Teams of Legend PDF can be chosen from.

Other inducements are not allowed with the following exceptions:

- 0-1 Star Players may be purchased for Tier 3 teams once the roster has 11 standard players on its roster (not counting the giant).

The following Special Rules are in effect:
Teams with the ‘Halfling Thimble Cup’ special rule may take Master Chefs for 100,000 gold pieces.
Teams with the ‘Bribery and Corruption’ special rule can buy 0-3 Bribes for 50,000 gold pieces. for the relevant teams.
Teams with the ‘Masters of Undeath’ special rule can gain a Zombie in a game in which they kill an opposing player (as per official rules) but the new zombie will not carry over into the next game(s); the same applies for Nurgle teams.

In addition to your 1.1m roster and skills, each team has a Sporting Giant! This player follows all the rules in Death Zone and cannot be given additional skills.

𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬
Each team has a skill package to enhance their players. You may not assign more than one additional skill to any player and star players may not have additional skills added.

Coaches will have the following skills allowance for their team:

Tier 1 - 2 primary skills or 1 secondary skill
Tier 2 - 4 primary skills (coaches may exchange 2 primary skills for 1 secondary skill once)
Tier 3 - 6 primary skills (coaches may exchange 2 primary skills for 1 secondary skill up to three times)

(Tiers are based on the 2020 rulebook)

𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐋𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐬
There is a time limit for games so coaches are encouraged to play 4 minute turns to ensure games are completed. Any games other than game 1 that reach the time limit will have to be halted and the result at this point will be the final result of that game. Game 1 may be played into lunch only if both coaches agree this with the TO at the start of lunch.

𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐞
The round 1 match will be randomly determined, with subsequent rounds being seeded based on tournament points.

09:30 – 10:00: Registration

• 10:00 – 12:15: Match 1

• 12:15– 12:45: Lunch

• 12:45 – 15:00: Match 2

• 15:15 - 17:30: Match 3

• 17:45: Awards

Tournament points are scored as follows for each match:

50 points for a win
20 point for a draw
0 points for a loss

Tiebreakers for those on equal points will be determined by combined casualty and touchdown difference, then Strength of Schedule.

You need to bring:
