Glasbowl I - Glasgow - 16th July 2022 *RESCHEDULED*

Post by LewishM »

For the first time in a long time Glasgow will once again host coaches from across the realm in a day of brutal blood bowl action! This (hopefully) annual tournament is going to kick off with a bang with lots of prizes available.
With lots of up prizes for grabs and stab being the skill of the day a lot of zany blood bowl action is in store, whats not to love?
We have secured an absolutely stunning venue right in the middle of Glasgow's luxurious west end if you wish to combine it with a night out in Glasgow! The venue has a bar open for our use and will be stocked at student prices to take you back to the good old days.
The tournament is also NAF approved and all matches will be NAF ranked.

Any questions please dont hesitate to ask here or email GlasbowlBB@Gmail.com

Our stylised rules pack for easy reading will be attached once it is ready but for now here is all the information you need

Any GP unspent at roster creation is lost and all Teams are considered to have the same Current Team Value (CTV) for the purpose of inducements and prayers to Nuffle.

This is a resurrection tournament, no SPP is gained, and injuries or deaths do not carry on from one game to the next.

Players added to a Team roster mid game as a result of the Masters of Undeath or Plague Ridden special rule are removed from the roster at the end of the game and do not carry on to the next.

Permitted inducements are:

• Bloodweiser Kegs 0-2
• Bribes 0-3

All skills must be chosen and cannot be random.

Rosters should be emailed to the organiser beforehand to check they follow the rules

Painting
Painted teams are mandatory, this would mean 3 colours and based.
If you cannot paint a team on time please email the organiser and see if we can help you with alternative arrangements but I cannot guarantee this.
Painting competition will be put to a vote however we want to stress this is not a diorama competition and as such display boards and other additional parts should not be taken into account, please judge the actual models.
Coaches are however welcome to bring display boards to show off their hard work.

The weegie -

Each coach should pick three Unskilled, non star player, players from their roster, and number them 1-3. Then roll a D3 and the result of that roll is the chosen player.
That lucky model will become the weegie for your team. This homegrown hero is excited to take his first outing onto a Glasgow field.

Game 1 : Give this player the "Stab" Skill, hes showing the visiting players how its done in the backstreet bowls of Glasgow
Game 2 : Give this player the "Shadowing" Skill, his lust for blood is up and hes not letting anyone away
Game 3 : Give this player "Unchanneled Fury" one too many Bloodfasts have gone to his head by this stage and he can barely be controlled.

Note: Each skill added stacks, so by round 3 he will have Shadowing, Stab AND Unchanneled Fury.

Just playing devils advocate for a minute... if the chap who posted this has not said cancelled then maybe leave it has postponed. The difference I would have said is if people have paid money - postponed makes it clear that it will happen at some unspecified point, cancelled means its not happening. The implication being their money is at risk versus standing against the postponed event.

Hey all, copying this post over from the facebook page.

Glasbowl is being postponed due to Corona like everything else at the time.

Due to me not being available in June 2021 I cant just delay by a year like most competitions, so instead I'm going to try my best for a late 2020/ early 2021 date and will update here when we have one, so hopefully not too far away!

I am awaiting the refund from the venue which they said will take a few days and then I will refund all who paid. This is taking some time as they only have one member of the finance team working part time at the moment again due to the current situation.

If you would rather just hold your space for the new date then just let me know not to send you a refund and ill count you as paid when we get the new date. If the new date ends up not being viable for you you can still ask for your refund then.

Stay safe and practice your dice rolls in the meantime!

Hi All, good news to announce this event has a new date and venue and is now open again for registration, those who did not request a refund for the 2020 date have already been signed up.

The rulespack has been updated and the venue location changed. A lunch is now included.

Any questions feel free to ask and if you'd like to sign up just let me know :)

The weegie -

Each coach should pick three Unskilled, non star player, players from their roster and roll a D3
The lucky model will become the weegie for your team. This homegrown hero is excited to take his first outing onto a Glasgow field.

I dont get this, pick 3 players and roll a D3? What are the out comes of the d3 roll? Do you mean 1 of the 3 players randomly gets the skill package?

Sorry I'll reword this to make it clearer in the main post, but yes you are correct. It works the way the old MVP rule used to work. Pick 3 players and number them 1-3, roll the D3, the result of that roll is the player who gets the skill package
