Can't get sanctioning due to proximity clash (too close to another NAF tourney on the same day).

Am looking to change the date to preserve the holy sanction.

Will post updates when I have the venue/date confirmed.

Really? But Newport to Tamworth is further than Derby to Doncaster and Swindon to Ryde, but all four of those are on this weekend! Or have the proximity rules changed since they were approved?

Also having been to both events in previous years - there is only a cross over of about 4 coaches

Did you apply for sanction on the 1st or the 8th? If the 8th then I’d be happy to contact the NAF to request that STAR and Elflympics are sanctioned on the same day this year despite some overlap in the likely pool of coaches.

Hello chaps.

Just popping in because Alex sent me a message last night; glad I so happened to check this thread while this chat was ongoing. He's not yet applied for sanction, but as I explained to him (and discussed here), we tend not to sanction two tournaments in close proximity on the same day / weekend. In the UK, 'close proximity' tends to be defined as < 100 miles. We take things on a case by case basis as a UK staff, so if Alex chose to apply for sanction on this weekend, we'd look at it and discuss with all parties. I've not looked into this or spoken to the group, so I don't really know the ins and outs.

Alex knows where to find me, so if he struggles with a date change, I'm happy to discuss with the group. In the other cases mentioned, either one of the tournaments is unsanctioned or a common sense agreement has been reached that all agree upon.

Which is the difference between this score system and the last one. Still it looks like you can get lot of points for the passing game.

Effectively the points for passing has been halved.
