The 'one coach must have a < 200 ranking' thing is a legacy rule from the first Cam Dub where all pairs were assembled via a random draw. It seemed like the most sensible way to run the tournament at the time. Now we're allowing pairs to sign up together, it has been suggested that we drop it. Perhaps we will come 2018, any thoughts on this are welcome (preferably in the bar on the 11th Nov. so we don't make too much noise in the thread, but if you're not coming this year and would like to contribute, please do!).

I don't see it being a problem for Joe and Candlejack to team up this year. They'd enjoy playing as a pair - and I always see Cam Dub as a fun tournament more than a serious pro tourney. Others might feel different (better players who stand a chance of winning, I mean!) but that's how I read it. Joe would probably win the tourney anyway no matter who his partner is

Cheers, Darren. Since it's in the rules as written and other teams have probably been formed on this basis, it's likely fairest to keep it for now and not have the Joedlejack combo. I reckon in 2018 we might change it!
