POW TOWN 2016 – Calgary, AB Canada – NAF Approved Soon!
June 11th and 12th 2016
Join us for Pow Town 2016 Alberta’s premier Blood Bowl event. In it’s 5th year, this year promises to be the best one yet. Last year we set a new record for attendance with coaches from across Western Canada converging on Calgary. This year we are moving venues to be more accommodating to the tournament participants. Location: Private residence, 5 minutes from Anderson C-Train Station
This venue has serval eateries within walking distance. We will also be able to keep our own schedule.
Shuttle Service from Anderson Station: A shuttle service will be at Anderson Station @ 8:40 AM on Saturday June 11th. Please email the tournament organizer to book a spot.

Tournament schedule:

The tournament will be a two day, 6 game swiss style tournament. First games will be determined by random matchup. The remaining games will be determined based on tournament points.
For the first round only, we will do our best to pair players off against members that are outside of their home club.

June 11th – Day 1 will run 4 matches
9AM: Registration begins
9:30 AM: First game
11:45 AM : Lunch
12:45 PM : Second Game
3:00 PM: Third Game
5:15 PM Fourth Game
7:30 – Day One Ends
June 12th – Day 2 will have 2 matches
9:00 AM : Fifth Game
11:30 PM: Lunch
12:30 PM: Sixth Game
3:00 – Conclusion of matches
3:00 – 3:30 – Painting Judging
3:30 – 4:00 - Awards and Conclusion
4:00 PM Tournament Finishes


What to bring:
- Painted team with suitable models.
- Skill rings or another appropriate way to identify skills/positions
- Block dice
- D6s, d8, d12/16/20
- 3 copies of your team roster including skill purchases and inducements

Tournament Rules:
- Standard CRP rules apply with some exceptions noted below.
- Teams will resurrect at the end of each games. No SPPs, injuries or any roster changes carry over between games
- Illegal Procedure and the 4 minute time limit will not be enforced.
- Games will have a maximum length of 2 hours 15 minutes. Turn time limits or chess clocks may be imposed if a game is at risk of going over the 2.5 hour time limit.
- Players must agree on cocked die rules, the use of dice cups and/or sharing dice at the start of the match.
- If there are any disagreements or rules disputes, tournament directors will be standing by to assist.
- Teams with the ability to raise killed players will not be allowed to.


Team building:
- 24 NAF sanctioned teams are eligible.
- Teams get 1.1 million gold to construct their roster.
- Star players can be purchased as part of a roster, but only after 11 roster players have been purchased. In the case that opposing teams hire the same star, both teams will be allowed to use the player.
- Teams must play with a minimum of 11 players.
- Teams can purchase Rerolls, apothecaries (if allowed), coaches, cheerleaders or fan factor.
- teams may also include bribes as part of the roster as per the standard inducement cost.
- Chefs can only be purchased by halfling teams.
- No other inducements may be purchased (including wizards, cards, extra apothecaries, mercenaries, etc).
- Teams can select one of the following skill packages:

Tier System (This is the tier system used by the NAF world cup)

Tier 1 – Amazon, Chaos Dwarf, Dark Elf, Dwarves, Lizardmen, Norse, Orc, Skaven, Undead, Wood Elf

Tier 2 – Chaos, Chaos Pact, Pro Elf, High Elf, Human, Khemri, Necromantic, Nurgle, Slann

Tier 3 – Halfling, Goblin, Ogre, Underworld, Vampire

Tier 1 – 6 regular skills
Tier 2 – 6 Regular Skills + 1 Double
Tier 3 – 6 regular + 2 Double


- Stars cannot be given skills
- One extra skill maximum per player
- Each skill can be given to a maximum of two players per team

Tournament Scoring:

Win = 65
Loss = 0
Tie = 25

Scoring Bonuses
Each TD scored: 3
Each Cas inflicted via block: 2


Stunty cup:
- Stunty teams will play for their own cup while still participating in the main tournament.
- Stunty teams include Halflings, Goblins and Ogres, as well as Lizardman teams that are made up of All Skinks (or Skinks plus a Kroxigor), and Underworld teams without Skaven players.
- Star players can be added to a stunty team without disqualifying them from the Stunty Cup.

Glittering prizes:
- Pow Town Cup - The team with the most tournament points. In the case of a tie, tie breakers are as follows:
- Win/tie/loss record
- Head-to-Head record if applicable
- TD difference
- CAS difference
- Runner up - the team with the 2nd most tournament points
- 3rd place – The Team with the 3rd most tournament points
- Stunty Cup - The stunty team with the most tournament points
- Best Painted Team
- Wooden spoon - The worst overall team
- Best Offense (Most TD’s)
- Most casualties
- Best Defense (Least amount of touchdowns scored against
- Sportsmanship


Swag and prizes:
- Every dollar collected will be given back to the players in the form of swag or prizes.
- PowTown dice are back!

We now have 24 paid coaches, with another 4 or 5 committed.
