It was turned down due to that? I was considering going along to this, but won't bother if it isn't.
Don't see that being a reason for not getting ranked.

It's in the charter.

So you were considering going, but now you're not bothering because it not being NAF ranked 'makes no sense', but you imply numbers aren't important to you? Fighting 'the man' by not attending the tournament not recognised by 'the man'? An enigma wrapped in a mystery cloaked in a puzzle! You are right, mind, this isn't the right thread for such chatter, and since I'm at Rocket on this weekend, I'll shurrup. Just passing a slow Monday morning.

numbers are important, being ranked will encourage more people than it will turn off and being where it is geographically it could be good for the naf in terms of spreading the word and sign ups
considering the rocketbowl is capped at 26 places makes this seem even more silly for it not being ranked
of course if the organisers don't want it ranked, it is up to them, I see no benefit to the NAF by saying this can't be ranked cause rocketbowl is

Yes, they were. It does seem a strange rule that two tourneys on the same date, that could be at opposite ends of the country for example, can't both be Naf ranked.

just read through the charter and I can't see anything in there that would cause it to be turned down
if it was the 8 weeks thing, it has been listed on here for far longer and lets be honest, for UK tournaments this site is far more important for giving advanced notice (another thing I think should have been addressed when moving domains) and it says that dispensation can be given if this was the reason
when the charter says that any version of the rules can be used (something I personally actually disagree with) makes this all the more odd, not having it ranked makes the already somewhat silly rankings even more silly
it does mention "We ask that you check the forums/upcoming tournaments for any possible clashes with previously announced tournaments." though that doesn't mean you can't do it on the same date and it has been pointed out that other have done so previously
I was looking at this as I think it would be good to support a region (and I think the NAF should as well) that doesn't have much in the way of tournaments and it would also be cheaper for me to get to than rocket bowl
bureaucracy ftl!
