The White Isle Star Bowl - 21/22 August 2010 - Stick wins!

Post by PeteW »

The White Isle Star Bowl

The tournament will be held at the excellent Warhammer World arena in Nottingham, and promises to be well organised, lots of fun, and offers excellent prizes.

Basic idea: TV115 LRB6, but every team MUST have a star. Races are tiered to give differing starting skill points which allow coaches to skill some players. 6 games, swiss style.

Rules: click here
Edit: if you can't read the rulespack, try this link which should sort things out.

Cost: £25 (£30 non-NAF) and this includes freebies, prizes, and lunch on both days. Paypal whiteisle@hotmail.co.uk
(Also, if you want the curry in Bugman's on the Saturday evening, that is another £8 please.)

Join us and make it bigger than the BBGT - well, at least show GW what a tourney should look like at their own venue. :D

Extra Info about the top prize!!!
spubbbba wrote: The prize for the winner of the Star Bowl will be a standard GW £30 team of 12 of their choice painted by me.

However I'm very flexible so this £30 can be purchase 40K/fantasy/other specialist games minis to use for conversions other miniature companies be they Fantasy Football specialists such as Impact, Rolljordan etc, rival fantasy companies like Reaper or just stuff from e-bay.

I should point out that I have pretty much painted GW minis exclusively for the last 20 years though so have a huge bits box that I can make use of.

If you want to increase the number of models above 12 then you can pay for the extra models and for painting at a rate of £5 for a normal sized model and £10 for stars or larger models. If you already have models that you want to post to me then you can use the £30 for that instead.

You can pretty much pick any colour scheme you want or leave it up to me and if you have an idea for convesions then we can discuss that I can sculpt to some degree and can put in suggestions or cobble together a rough mock up. I'll do a photobucket album to keep you updated and get feedback. Here is the one i did for Purplegoo's lizzies that i used at the GT.

It will take a few months to finish but I do like to take my time and do the best possible job, i will easily get it finished by the end of the year but the exact date will depend on what the winner wants.
Skill rings left: Grey (30), White (30), Beige (32), Red (31), Green (27), Pink (32), Yellow (29), Blue (29).

Oh - I'm supposed I'm 'interested', depends on if I'm scoring. If I am, I suppose I'm the extra if we have an odd coach, if not I'm not scoring, I'd rather play than watch. ;)

Will sort it out later.

It is not GW's uling, but my thoughts. I will happily add them later if they become official, but if I am inviting non-regulars to the tourney (which I am) then I can't really add races where the rules have been deleted from most places on the internet!!! If I am wrong and they have not been deleted then I would be happy to add them, as long as there is a reliable, allowed link to them.

They are, or will be, on the NAF website.

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

Ooo... that is interesting. I'll put them back in the mix then.

Slann and Chaos Pact can be Group 3, Underworld can be Group 4.

I'll edit the pdf when I find a nice link.

Thx Simon.
