Toy Soldier 2009. 25th-26th July

Post by fire olli »

Hi All,

Just wanted to let you know that there will be a blood bowl section at Toy Soldier 2009. It will be the same rules as last year (Will post a link later).

It was a great event last year with some good food and lots of drink.

The following is a post from the warhammer forum, from the guy running the event. The link for the entry pack is.

http://cack-wargamesclub.net/index.php? ... nloads&c=5
Dates for TS'09 are confirmed for 25th &26th of July.
The venue will once again be the Atrium at Preston uni (UCLAN).
This year we have the capacity for roughly 150 players.

Systems are: WFB, 40k, FoW, WAB, BB and H/WM.

The entrypack contains all the info you need and can be downloaded from HERE.

Rulespacks will follow shortly (when I've rounded them up from the system judges).

Payment via Paypal will be available at ruthmsc@hotmail.co.uk

Please could you add any charges if necessary:

Quote:
It's free when you use your PayPal balance or your bank account linked to your PayPal account. There is a charge of:

3.4% + £0.20 GBP

for debit or credit card payments.

So if you pay via a card on Paypal the real fees are as follows:

81p on £17 for entry
£1.53 on £39 for entry and one nights accomodation
£2.35 on £61 for entry and two nights accomodation

If your using Paypal please include all information, game system and accomodation details (which night if only one, we have had people only book Friday night in the past).

Any questions please post or PM me.

I will not be there as my wife will be due to pop on the 25th of July but i am helping to gather interest. One more thing it is a NAF event.

Cheers Olli

I'm in again this year. Had a blast last year, it had a really nice atmosphere and the lads from the other game systems were brilliant.

You can also follow more goings on for this event over at Warhammer.org:

http://warhammer.org.uk/phpBB/viewtopic ... 13&t=53754

This is a multi-system event and it sells out pretty fast due to its popularity. Also there is a limited number of the rooms (not bad @ £22 per night). If you're thinking about it then I'd recommend doing so sooner rather than later. Weather can't be guaranteed, but last few years have been scorchers (even with the miserable weather we've had!) and a barbeque has been doling out plenty of tasty grub to be washed down with student-bar priced drinks - it is a university after all and it would be rude not to take advantage!!!

I'm on the list! Don't recognise the other names on there... possibly PubBowler and ninjahamster? Only 6 confirmed entrants so far...

G-off: I was looking at the rulepack... interesting... How does the veto thing work? My choice of veto might influence opponent's choice, e.g. if I veto strip ball, he might not be inclined to veto sure hands and vice versa. I'm sure you've considered this though, the powergamer that you are.

Good point. I guess each coach writing it down on a bit of paper is the fairest option. You could roll of for "first veto", but this is a big advantage in some circumstances.

Behave causing trouble will ya! :D We discussed this and the rule will be changing to max 3 of the same skill.

As for how it works, bit of paper should suffice so it will be simultaneous. I'll update the rules pack to make this clear though. Thanks!
