Just to let you all know that we are now open for pre-registration for the 2009 Euc Bowl. It will be on 25/26 July, bigger and better than ever.
This year we are producing an exclusive limited edition boxing Kangaroo mini. You can see the artists sketches here. Every ticket holder will receive a boxing roo for free. Those that are left will be sold with the profits being donated towards the State of Origin tournament. These will be available exclusively to ticket holders at Eucalyptus Bowl for $20 each and only if there are any left will they go on sale to the general public.
We are aiming to have the great trophies and huge prize pool that we managed last year - and the more who attend the more goes into the prize pool. As I'm sure you all know Eucalyptus Bowl does not run at a profit - every dollar we receive is ploughed back in.
Once again we are running a bulk order with Impact Miniatures. You place your order with us by posting on AusBowl before the end of June. You get 10% off the price and the convenience of collecting at Eucalyptus Bowl. In addition Eucalyptus Bowl gets 20% of the total in prize support from Impact - meaning more and better prizes for you to win!. If the order is over $1000 then its 25%!
Luckily for us Earlwood RSL have turned their function room into a gym. So we've found an even better venue in Burwood RSL! Burwood is more central and the room has better facilities with projector and audio in the room. I expect fewer problems with the catering too!
In terms of rule set it will be the same as last year, with the Chaos Pact, Slann and Underworld teams allowed to play.
In order to try and avoid the high number of overrunning games we had last year one of the things we are doing is introducing a penalty for coaches who have games overrun. There is no penalty for the first offence, but subsequent overruns incur ever increasing penalties. If you know you are a slow player please try to play at a brisk pace and maybe take some action to speed up your play (e.g. bring a clock and time your own turns!).
